Ok,i currently have ns1.flumpinternet.co.uk and ns2.flumpinternet.co.uk.

If i was to change servers, would this affect my sites?
Since the IPS of the ns servers would change. Just trying to work out the problems i will encounter when i move servers.

Thanks

Craig

Is the site static or database driven? (dynamic)

If it is static then you can have both servers running side by side then update the dns information and the transition should be un-noticable.

if your system is database driven, then move the database over to the new server and point the interface at the new servers database, then run the two interfaces at the same time and change the DNS, once the DNS records get updated the transfer will have a minimal amount of downtime. (where you are moving the database)

(Idea originally told to me by MattF or WHT)

What I would do is to setup the new server with all of the correct configurations (DNS, e-mail, web content, etc). Then, I would start the update with your registrar. During that time, if both servers are up and responding, you should have little to no downtime since either the domain will resolve to one server or the new one during propagation.
