Howdy all,
My first post here. YAY!

Anyways, just wondering if Tera-Byte were all they are cracked up to be? They're features seem pretty cool and the price is correct so what's the catch?

Opinions gratefully recieved.

yes 20 gb at $ 9 bandwidth is cheapest if that is true.whether that amount can be done without crossing the allowed limit of sys resources I dunno .also 100 clients on a server may be too many but may be they tackle it well - no support forums but and no online checking of ur invoices:o

okay, I have had several hosts and when I read tera-bytes page and signed up all was well with the world. December 2000.

I got quick responses to probs (tickets) and all of a sudden that stopped and some nasty people at tera-byte support were emailing messages like "didn't get it, send again.... NOT" and then I would send my message again and they would respond with really childish replies. June 2001.

I asked for the Pres. He apologized for the juvenile staff. I was having a major problem and wanted someone to reply. It took a day and a half and demanding to speak to the President of the company -- if there was such a person. I had no options left. That staff is rude and if you ask for help, sometimes they just ignore you for the fun of it.
I left them.

Rude Replies

I have spoke to steve about this before. I thought his techs were rude at times but he assured me they werent and were just doing there jobs. They have an aim to get the ticket queue down to 0 each day. They sometimes wrote short emails saying fixed or can you give more information but done in way's i considered to be rude. After he explained that the techs were not being rude i kinda thought yeah Tech's busy long as my problem is solved i don't care.

Since i spoke with steve about it i have noticed email support has been much more friendly. Maybe at a certain stage they were under staffed due holiday's, Growth, illness etc etc .... but i now believe they have sorted the tech support out and are on there way back to were they were before they started 4webspace.com. In a way 4webspace has caused them more problems than anything. People saw the deal snapped up the server messed things up on there boxes it keeps the techs busy all the time. For a $99 a month service them techs bend over backwards doing some of there stuff.

Specially Steve Lam one of the managers he's been absolutly excellent. Dealing with problems which do not fall under there support staff's duties. Even doing duties which normally you'd have to pay $50 an hour for at no cost. After a bumpy patch i think things are on the UP for them again. They are eating away at each problem and becoming stronger for doing so.

I had some troubles with my shared yccount as their server had HD failure...but they got it up in a day. As someone said they dont run away from troubles---they solve them.

Tera byte offers great prices and one of the best customer service in the business. However, their
raq servers have been a little slow recently.
