just as title says (yes i'm a newbie) what are your thoughts on www.ace-host.net (yes i searched the forums already and this is why i signed up)?
the prices seem a little on the inhuman side, but so inhuman i might as well try a month and see what happens
the website also looks a bit shabby for a hosting company
any experiences?
thanks
Andrew

Well, besides the purple hurting my eyes. They seem to have interesting pricing. But signing up for a year is something I would really not do. But it is only 9.95 for a year. But keep in mind, they have no TOS/Agreement page and they do not have a pricing for going over your monthly bandwidth or what ever other feature they offer. I woudl approach this with caution.
Just my 2 cents

=P the TOS is at the bottom of the small pile of links on the left
yea took me a second or two to find it...
the TOS isn't really unique... the usual no warez, mp3s, or adult stuff etc.

ok, very interesting. Just 2 quick comments:
1st what is with the "100.00.00" numbers above each rule. Never seen that before
2nd, well I guess I find it interesting that they are willing to display how many accounts have been terminated.
Sorry with the purple background I did not see the TOS. Gotta go away from the PC for a sec to focus my eyes again.

I would be more concernd that they won't allow a ping. Probably not a tracroute too. Probably ask what there over the limit charge is.

My eyes hurt :bawling: It took a bit to focus on the text, but 40GB transfer for $4.95 a month for the lowest plan?

1 gig space and 80 gigs of BW for 2.99/month if you sign up for 2 years.
Change my address to easy street. I was going to spend all of that money on a dedicated server but now I won't have to.
I wonder if these guy will be offering web design services soon.

Maybe I could offer my inept design skills :D They should make plenty of profit to pay me $50 an hour? ;)

[message]:
I heard your servers were at www.nac.net, is that correct?
Yes, we have servers co-location with NAC
If i have a business hosting account, do you allow www.domain1.com to point to site1.mydomain.com and www.domain2.com to point to site2.mydomain.com? If yes, I am not charged extra am I?
Yes, If you have multiple domains, you could point them all to the web site you have hosted with us.
What are your over-the-limit charges for bandwidth (per GB) and extra space cost (per 100MB)?
We've yet to have anyone go over the limit, but some have come close. The highest person uses 60gb transfer per month, so I doubt you will have a problem. We pay transfer per second, so as long as it's not huge amounts per second, you probably wouldn't be charged for going a little over. As indicated, people have not went over, so we don't have a set fee. You would most likely have to upgrqade to the next package.
Do you restrict filetypes (other than warez, porn)?
No, you we don't restrict the file types uploaded.
What happened to the Terms of Service?
It's on a page at the end of the subscription process. Our web site is being redone right now, so the new site will have more information and a better look.

Looks like you'll have to ask the overages question again as they avoided it.

I wouldn't have a single question after:What happened to the Terms of Service?
It's on a page at the end of the subscription process. Could there be any more wrong of an answer than that?

You mean it's wrong for them not to tell you their rules until after you pay?
