I was wondering if the new Plesk is definately going to be released this July?! I've been checking out the Plesk Demo and i can't find the client-panel feature to add subdomains & additional ftp accounts. In the current version, is that done through the admin-panel? :(

The only way i see that subdomains can be set-up for a customer with Plesk, is going to the client's name, and then setting up a domain name ...lets say user.clientsdomain.com without the "WWW"

I tried the demo at demo.plesk.com and it really rocks!

Yea admim i think it was sent me some thing saying the 17th we will see if they can do it.. I would like to see a demo of it.. You would think they would have on up by now or have more info on there site for 2.0 can't find much on there at its only about 2 weeks away.. :)

I may give them a call and see how its going..

Any one had any luck getting plesk and CPanels DNS working together.. Got a RH DNS server and want to get Plesk to send it updates and of changes made to DNS in plesk any one know how to do this or if it can be done.. Plesk sent me some thing but would not work..

Vortech: Did you got the subdomains (http://sub.domain.com) to work in Plesk?

We only have like 70 users on our plesk box so i don't think we did.. Had to many problems with it so went more on CPanel.. DNS problems and hting could not make it work with other server to auto update them.. Plesk seems to be setup for a one server job not many like CPanel thats one thing i hate about it right now.. :(

we have lots of users complaining that they cannot get their scripts to work on these plesk servers, the script works fine in telnet but it doesn't work on the browser ,
(we got these scripts to work on our other machines but not the ones running plesk)
so we have to fiddle w/ the scripts to make it work on these boxes... too much work and support needed to get it to work on the users(customers) end.

We switched some of our users to our Cpanel equipped server and all is well and good, no more support issues and i can focus on other things...like learning more about BSD systems and chasing girls

We were looking at Plesk last July! They were suppose to launch the new release last August. Their web site always has the new release date as one month out. I guarantee they will delay it again and again. We just gave up and stopped even considering them.

Remember when their Plesk Server Administrator Plus (PSA+) and Plesk Enterprise Manager (PEM) was slated for August 2000 release. We have a screen cap showing this.

interesting.. .

maybe they spent all that time fine tuning their Flash animated demo ;)

heh..

I hope they come through I have been waiting for our host provider to set up new servers with Plesk

They are bad about delaying the releases from their release date but thats usually because they find a big or something, they arent like most of the programmers who will release buggy software, if they see a problem, they would rather wait another month to release it then send something out to the general public thats not up to their high standards.

You can add subdomains in the file /usr/local/plesk/apache/conf/dir.include... Just define VirtualHost for the subdomain you need. It's easy to do it manually, but there's no interface for clients to do it...you can build a web-based script that would update the dir.include file, but I don't know if it could be integrated with the Plesk control panel.

I'm not sure if the new version of Plesk solves this problem....
