I use them, support is good, they aren't the best service in the world but I like their unmetered bandwidth policy as well as unlimited IP's. However at times they are hit VERY hard by people launching DoS attacks and they can be down for hours sometimes. While they do have good pricing and plans their servers suck, I've had a lot of hardware problems and have heard similar. They are good to colocate with and generally they're are always pluses and minuses with a company but that's just my opinion.

I don't see too many pluses on your list. I guess you could consider unmetered bandwidth and unlimited IP's a plus but do you think these have anything to do with the downtime?

Downtime honestly hasn't been bad in the last 2 months and again pretty good support, just at times they get hit REALLY hard. It may not be the best solution if your a corporate giant.

their site dedicated and reseller page seem unaccessable this time, btw, do they allow Telnet/SSH access on reseller plans?

I don't know I use their dedicated and yeah FDC looks completely down, I was installing zend software then noticed I lost connection to my shell the second it finished installing, I thought at first it was just my server then noticed all of FDC was down, funny how it was right after the installation ;/ wanted to try out modernbill too ah well.

Huh? You think fdcservers.net is good? Well if you want like 1 or 2 hours downtime daily, than I say go with them. It's been a motnh I have been with them and the support sucks. It really does. If I open a support ticket, they are closed un-answered while some are answered after 3 or 4 days and their downtime is just really very repulsive.

Just do a search on them on these forums. From what I know, colocation is superb, while their reseller hosting isn't too good. My knowledge could be outdated.

FDC Reseller = Terrible, absolutely pitiful. Well, just a little worse than that.

FDC Dedicated = fairly decent, decent reply times, but not always quality replies, and sometimes have some small misunderstandings (such as installing a wrong version, then later installing the proper version), but the dedicated support is usually very good. Every so often they do have some slowtime (check out the FDC forums about that), but overall, dedicated is pretty good.

Check out the forums at FDCservers.net the general discussion/pre-sale questions/reseller support are becoming filled with "there is no support here" kinda post.

But, you wont see anything like that with dedicated servers.

LOL. Where did you hear that?

No, I did not hack anything, I was removed for over CPU usage.

I told the reseller I worked with about FDC's security hole (that Adam denies) and as a result, Adam deleted all of my files. Which I guess was his way of getting revenge. I didn't tell him how to exploit it or much details, just enough to convince them that it exist.

If you know something that can help somebody else, why hide the information?

I have told Adam about the security hole, and he denied its existance. There is also a patch made available (not by me) that probably could be located on the internet. But if he denies that it exist, it is sort of hard to convince him to patch his system. He denied it to me, and he denied it to the reseller I told.

LOL. So basically, PCPlayground can lead an Adam to water, but he cant force him to drink =).

Hi,

I was very happy with price for features but they had a lot a of network issues at the beginning which was painfull.

However, the last month has been relatively good. No significant downtime and their support has improved 100 per cent.

I do agree, their support has been improving.

I don't know what happened to Adam, maybe he got fired. But Kevin (wasnt he the game host owner?) seems to be running the resellers now.

Though Kevin still seems to have some difficulties when it comes to the technical aspect of the servers. But its a step forward... some support is better than no support, lol.
