Any one have a clue how turn on the DNS resolve stuff in webalizer 2.01?
I've downloaded a .pkg version that should have that DNS thing turned on, but I wonder...
I ran the thing manually, and it created stats in website/~stats.
But...
No DNS stuff,
And no .htaccess :(
Do I need to change httpd.conf and such?

Hmm, me idiot...
I probable should wait a day for it to build a DNS cache :D
Still, any info would be appreciated

How did you run it manually, i.e., what script did you run?
In order for everything to work properly, you need to run the webalizer.pl script. That, in turn, runs the webalizer2.pl script which creates all the htaccess stuff.
Let it run this evening and take a peek tomorrow.

Thanks!
That was actually the thread where I got the URL to the webalizer .pkg from. I couldn't find it after I got the .pkg :o
I did run the .pl in cron.daily manually, not without errors though. But for now I'll wait untill tomorrow and see what happens.
But I still wonder if I need to turn some DNS resolving on at the server. I believe webalizer does that, without any special configurations on the server, but I'm not sure...

Aloha
do you mean so instead of getting straight IP #'s you get the site name ??

Yes, that's what I meant, but it works now, so apparently there's no need for special server configurations.
Just getting error messages again on oversized log records and referrer fields, but who cares, I've finally got a nice colorful pie at the bottom of my stats pages :D
