Hi friends, i'm considering to start a small but honest reselling hosting. Never done it before but i'm very eager to start.
I'm looking for partner as i don't have much fund i can afford about $ 15 a month. I would prefer few people ( north america & europe) as I live in asia.
Please email at iwebbie@yahoo.com
I'm doing this based on trust in this partners thing, is it possible? I would love to work with people who regularly contribute to this forum.
I've look at 9kd.net who have closed down :( I think it will work if only we're honest about it like telling people we're reselling.
Regards

Trust + Business = no such thing, but someone posted this right under yours:

The webhosting reselling business is very profitable nowadays, especially with the level of transparencies that can be created with DNS. However, support and service still count a lot. You may want to have the company you schoose to resell for give you a free trial for a couple of days.
That way you can try out not only their server speed but their technical support. Trust me starting out in this business you shall need a lot of help in Tech Support issues, and if your host is not responsible, then that just pushes the bar for attaining success just a little harder. GOOD LUCK!!;)

I don't see how this message has much to do with the questions asked, though I did noticed it was a copy & paste job from another thread.

Hmm, you want to share a reseller account with someone, right?
I see an organizational problem: The host will want to have _one_ person in charge for the reseller account, who will pay for the account and to whom he will address complaints about spam or other abuse. Therefore there's no way to fully share an account: One of the "partners" would be in charge and the other would be something like the reseller of a reseller.
The main obstacle is probably, that the host is unlikely to allow a reseller to have his own resellers.

Really, I think resellers can offer reseller accounts, - how the host know and why would they care?
But either way, if you are going to resell, but 'be honest' about it, does that mean the you do the billing and technical support for the people you resell to? If not, how are you making your money and what are you doing to get it?
I guess I am just not sure I understand what your business plan is. You must first decide what you want to do and then seek a remedy to your business plan.
Hope that makes sense.
Your Reselling partner is your host!
I don't see why you need another partner... it'll cut all your profits making it not worht it for both partners.

Thanks everyone for your valuable input. Guess that decision has been made not to pursue it :bawling:
