I rarely see managed dedicated servers around. So maybe hiring an admin for managing the server will be a good alternative for you.

Just some suggestion, although not completely related with your thread.

RackSpace.com advertises "managed" servers, and for that their prices are very good (and they have a good reputation for providing excellent support). I'm not exactly sure how managed they are though.

A couple of companies that I've had experience with that provide managed servers are HostPro.com and DataPipe.com (although I haven't used their managed services). As far as which one I'd recommend more, I'd say I've had a better experience overall with DataPipe.com.

I have been thinking to get a system admin. But I have no idea where to look for and how much will they cost.
Basically I dont want to monitor system performance, security, upgrades..etc.

There are a few on this board.

Tim_Greer, Jens _someone_, and myself. I am sure there are others.

Just ask....

I have a managed dedicated server with http://qwk.net on a custom configuration between the Pico and Kilo packages that was tailored to the requirements of the forum software I run, which eats a lot of RAM. So far (five months) I've been pretty happy, although Travis could do a better job of communicating via e-mail. Downtime has been minimal, problems are handled very quickly as long as issues are telephoned in, regardless of the time of day. On only one occasion have I had to leave a message rather than getting immediate telephone help, and on that one occasion I got a call back within 10 minutes.

You will be best off with a control panel of some kind -- I ended up with a partial install of WebMin so I can control my own crontabs, permissions, and non-anonymous FTP access. Not having that installed from the git-go ended up costing me a lot of time the first few months.

You can get managed dedicated servers through burst.net, pwebtech.com and site5.com. I am sure there are others but those are the three I would recommend you check out.

Post an offer in the Web Hosting / Offer Forum , there will be masses of people replying your post.

If you really need help, I can help you, for free or just a little fee, as a part-time admin. Let me know if you are interested.

The suggestion to post in the Adv/Offers forum is good however note that he has PM & Email enabled and I'm sure he/she'd be thrilled to get some offers for managed server deals and sys admin infomation to get a better idea of costs and make a decision.
