I am looking for a dedicated server and need around 500-600 gig of bandwidth per months. I am based in the UK but from what I have seen the UK prices are ridicluously expensive compared to US.

From what I understand it would be cheaper to purchase our own server and co-locate?

I checked out E.freeservers.com and it seems a good deal and bandwidth prices are good for high-traffice sites, does a anyone have any further experience with them recently? Their deals would be ideal, getting them to pruchase the server and put it in place in the US makes more sense with me being based in the UK.

Any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated.

You will be stucked at a 20 months contract once you signed up with them. If you want to break the contract, you will have to pay for the whole server, which cost more than $2000. I won't go with any host for a long-term contract as no one can be sure that their good service last that long. Who knows if something happen in the middle and affected the quality?

By the way, so far I heard no bad comment from the customers of them.

Thanks for the feedback, I agree about the 20 month thing but I just cant find any decent hosts that offer good bandwidth, and like I say we will probably need to purchase a server anyway. Has anyone else got any comments, especially anyone who actually uses them?

Have you had any offers emiled to you from the hosts here? If not, maybe placing a request in the Ad/Offers forum with a request for colocation pricing offers, and maybe server lease offers too (since I don't think you've gotten the server yet), might produce a bite from a host?
