Can anyone out there help with this?

I have a client with a medical site with a google page rank of 4. They need their page rank to be 6.

Is there a site where they can link from to get a higher rank?

if they have inbound links from related sites with higher pageranks of 5/6 that should help increase them

i have two inbound links on one site from sites with 6 & 5 pageranks and that site was getting a pagerank of 5 with only a single page of content.

PageRank's logarithmic scale means that there's a long way to go from PR4 to PR6... so any links will help, but it'll take a lot of them unless they manage to get something substantially higher than a PR6. But most sites with a high PageRank have come to realize the value in it. Depending upon how important it is to them, they might consider that a number of high-PR sites will link for a fee.

http://www.browseireland.com/

that is a site with PR 7 that allows you to submit the url. you just need to hope that the site gets spidered in its entirety

I found that in about 1 minute by searching for ireland in google and checking out some of the top results.

for such a broad keyword you should find the top sites have an ok page rank so its a case of speaking to these sites and seeing if they are interested in swapping links.

Ciqala's offered a good approach; another is to find the appropriate category in the Open Directory (dmoz.org) for the site. First step, submit to that category. If you can find more than one appropriate category, choose the one where the directory page has the higher PageRank. Occasionally you'll get lucky and find a home on a PR6 or even PR7 page in the directory.

That will result in two links, the one from dmoz and one from the Google Directory (and others that use dmoz data, but they'll be pretty unimportant). Next, look at the high-PR sites on that directory page (the default display is in PageRank order) and investigate whether you can get links from them first, and then from anyone who links to them. Go further by going up a level in the directory, or vertically to related categories, etc.

Linkbuilding takes a little work, but if you invest the time it pays off.
