View Full Version : Dealing with Special Deals

I know that most web hosts run "specials" to bring in new business, but what about when you want to switch hosts in the beginning of a new month, when some of the hosts that you're looking at don't have their new specials posted yet (if they're to have new specials at all).

I was seriously considering hosting with Aletiahosting.com for a couple of my domains - their June 2001 special (posted in the Adverts and Offers section) expires today, and I'm not about to rush into a new host just to get a deal. But I'm not interested in this host *without* the deal. So what should I do? Wait? Take them off my list because their offerings are different now?

And once I'm moved over and happy with my service I have friends and clients who want to move also - but if the special expires before they switch, how can I recommend that my friends get less than I am for the same money?

Can you direct this question directly to them? I don't see how anybody here can even help you out except just to suggest you to contact them directly ...

cheers,

Well, I'm interested in opinions on how to approach special deals in general - not just regarding a single company.

Thanks for your advice, though.

If nothing else, it's a good opportunity to find out how they respond to inquiries.

As a web host, we have run specials on occassion.

If a prospective customer calls and said "hey, I thought I saw a special on your site last week........but I don't see it anymore" We honor the special no questions asked. It's simply good business.

Definately contact whichever host you are thinking of going with, more often than not...they'll have good news for ya.
