What type of Intel processor? Pentium I, II, or III...The RaQ3 is an AMD chip. It also depends on what the machine is for. Will you be using it as a dedicated machine or for virtual accounts? Will there be heavy cgi use or not?

The Main thing you want to look at, is the EASE of how you want to operate the system. Cobalt Machines are much easier to operate with control panels, security updates supported by the manufacturer, Special "ports" of other clients/servers (mysql, php etc). The one thing that the cobalt lacks in is the "perl" area. So if you are planning on running a very large amount of CGIs and you know your way around a Linux Server, then I would go with the INTEL server.

However if you are not sure how to work linux all that well , or don't know advanced administration techniques I recommend that you get the cobalt.

Pentium 1's and 2's are not in production anymore. Also they were never made in a 433 mhz speed. Celeron's were.

Its a Celeron 433.

good point - but I'm sure some dedicated place is pushin them! RaQs are incredibly crappy when it comes to perl - which is ironic (english majors please no flames) since their existence relies on a perl-based interface. They aren't bad if you are new to servers and need an interface for each virtual site you place on them. Max 125 moderately sized sites per person please! They really get crappy after that. Disk space won't be your problem, RAM will be at 32MB...kinda anemic!

Well... first of all - Your 32RAM is not a good idea regardless of Cobalt / Linux :) Expect to have lots of problems... Get as much memory as possible. And "which one" is better depends on the services you are offering or your plans for the server.
