View Full Version : Something about F5Hosting?
Hello.
I was checking out F5hosting.com, and found that they offer a great package (Silver), which seems (keyword: SEEMS) way better than Tera-Byte's Plan 4 for only a few dollars extra.
However, being the curious type that I am, I searched for everything that I could find out about them, and came across this...

Looks great, with lots of positive reviews...but then I did a whois and got this...

According to the whois, F5Hosting has been in the business less than 2 months, and there's a review from a customer saying that he's been with them for a couple of months? I don't know about anyone else out there but this is suspicious.
Perhaps the guys from F5Hosting or anyone else out there might want to comment on this?
The guy that posted that review, posted it on 6-25, so he could be a customer for a couple months.
F5 Andy 06-30-2001, 03:14 AM Yes F5Hosting.com is only 2 months old.

I want to thank you for looking at our packages and considering us for your hosting needs. Yes, f5hosting hasn't been around but only a few months. We have never disputed that fact if anyone asked us, BUT we have quality people and have surrounded ourselves with winners in business and in web hosting.
The person who posted the review said "a couple of months" as a general term. He was one of our first customers (and he is very happy, might I add). His email address is linked to his name on that board, why don't you email him and ask him how he feels about us?
When someone asks you to do something for them and you say, "Ok, I will in a couple minutes" do they hold you to two minutes? Or does that mean you will do it now or 30 seconds from now, or in 10 minutes? "A couple" is just a figure of speech, and as he WAS one of our first, it may seem like a couple months.
Ask any of our customers how happy they are and they will tell you. Come to our message board and post on there asking about the service. But don't come on these boards and say we are suspicious, or question our integrity, because someone posted a "figure of speech" on a review site.
Again, thank you for considering us. If there is anything that I can do for you, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I just found this, even though it is old. I like to read.
I am that cutomer and I am sorry for using the term a couple of months, that it bothered you so much is the real question here. I was not implying that f5 was older then they are, I was saying that it had been over a month and such, I do not count days, maybe I should to be exact for you, but I will try from this day on, for you, to track the days precisely.
What I will say is that I have been with several (more then two but less than five) other hosts and find that none of them have been even close to the service I get at f5. If the service of f5 is what you are trying to knock with this "I found a bad thing stuff" stick with slamming my english for you will never be able to down f5. They are a great hosting service and if that threatens you too bad.
Nashoba 07-09-2001, 01:54 AM mekmal, there is absolutely nothing wrong with someone questioning the validity of your review, or if said company is really good when it has only been in business for a couple of months. True, everyone has to start somewhere but some people prefer not to be a company's guinea pig. Also keep in mind that a company's support and quality can go downhill very fast for many reasons.
Right now with the company being new they most likely have few clients (compared to established companies). Plus they are eager to make a name for themselves. They're going all out for you to get you out there telling your friends and writing good reviews. Only time will tell how good of a company they really are. Personally I don't put much weight at all in reviews from customers that have only been with a company for a month or two regardless of how long the company has actually been in business. It takes time to evalutate whether a hosting company's support is truly good. And if that company is solid all around.
The thing that would concern me about F5 is that they are offering ridiculous pricing and catering to people that want everything for next to nothing. This means they will probably get a lot of clients very fast. The question you should ask is, is this good business sense? Will they be able to handle the rapid growth and hire more quality people at that pricing? And what happens when they start filling up servers with all of these high bandwidth sites? Just some things I would want to know and reasons that I would not sign up with this company.
mekmal 07-09-2001, 02:13 AM You certainly are correct things can go bad, for any company. But what makes a good company, one that has ben around for awhile, not even. What is known is that when so much is done by people that really do enjoy what they do and have the mindset to make it work then that is what makes things go good, although the best intensions can also lead to failure, no company is safe from loosing it all but those willing to fight to make it are the ones we need to watch for, for they are not out for just the money. Time will show what I already know, They care and are dedicated, the prices may rise but if they do not then they will set themselves up to fail, as would every company during inflation. But as for now they can operate at those prices and do very good. As long as clients keep comming f5 does what it needs to, buy another server. That is were others also fail they do not expand, they want the money quick at all cost, "show me the money" is the dream most are out there for. Some like f5 are in for the long haul. I hope they make it, as I do with anyone attempting to go into business.
