I will soon be launching my hosting business, but it's mostly geared for local areas. Is it wiser to just buy a template at a site like ***************.com or get a custom design done? I see templates going for $40, $50 bucks and have flash intros, and everything included. Should I spend more for a custom design?
Right now I don't have a lot of money to dish out $200 for a custom made design. Thanks in advance.

What exactly are you looking for? Like do you want it to be High-Tech, or do you want it to be simple?

Doesn't really matter. I would like it to be something attracting to the user but not so bloated that it looses its practicality or easness of navigation.

I suppose you answered your own question. Another alternative is purchasing an exclusive premade design/template that are sold by designers here on WHT and other forums (yaXay, etc.).

I would suggest going with the custom design I am sure you can find someone to create a custom design save it as a template that will allow you to edit and create new pages. The templates I have seen look cool for about a minute, then they all start looking the same look at modernbill.com that's a template

I like a custom design much more than a template. But if it's money that you're worried about then I'd suggest getting a template design, because it will be cheaper.

Can't you do it yourself? I think thats the cheapest route to take. (If you have the time, of course).

<< look at modernbill.com that's a template >>

....
Do you mean the actual website or what? As far as I'm aware, and as far as Ceonex is aware, Ceonex designed ModernBill, and that whole network thing - as far as I'm aware... it was all designed by Ceonex, and isn't a template.

But plastus, if you are short of money, then go for a template I guess. You can find great unique templates, ones with flash, ones without, etc. - but the point is they are expensive, because they are unique. You may be able to find some places that do cheap designs, but they'll be no where as good as the ones from places like Template Monster or 4Templates, etc. - since they are only sold once, and wont be more than $100.

can't have it both ways... if you like to go on the cheap go for the templates... usually those templates get downloaded 4 to 5 times max, so chances are not too great your clients or prospects will see another site of exactly the same desing, particularly in an industry with so many players.

Otherwise you can always go to one of those freelance sites and have designers bid for your project.

You can find some good places that do custom design for a cheap price, but it depends what you call cheap.

There's a place around doing 'em for $100, they are no sparks like ones from Ceonex or Ravio - yet they are great and well used none the less. If you mean you cannot afford more than $20... there are a lot of nice template sites out there.
