Hi there,

I was wondering whether it would be ok to get some people to test speeds for me on two different servers.

http://www.travellerspoint.com

http://travellerspoint.ayera.com

I am interested in how responsive each server seems to different people and where they are testing from.

Thanks a million for anyone willing to help out!

The first one was very slow on ADSL (Australia) The second one much faster.

From NY, USA (Broadband) the first one was SLIGHTLY faster than the second. Barely noticable.

In Hong Kong the first link is a little bit faster. I'm using 3Mb/s ADSL.

Google seems to think that an ATL is "Advanced Technology Laboratory" :D

thanks all,

so far the two seem pretty even overall! I really thought the second one was a lot slower, but it seems it may just be my specific connection! I am testing on 56k in Australia.

Where are the sites hosted?

One is east coast USA and the other west-coast. I thought perhaps this was resulting in slower times for international visits. I had my brother testing in Norway and he also found the second a lot slower (we were both noticing 1.5 - 2 x as long loading times.)

I should have checked here earlier though, as of course these things are very dependant on connections, etc.

The new host has been very responsive with support questions, so I would love to go with them, but have been held back by these speed issues.

Any more results are definately welcome.

Using adsl, the second one was faster for me by a few seconds. (Canada) Although both speeds were not bad. (3-5 sec)

The first one is faster for me, so I am guessing it is the East Coast server?

Yes phpcoder, the first one is east coast. I guess you are in that area then?

The first one was faster for me. But only by a minimal amount. I'm in the east coast, Ohio to be exact.

http://travellerspoint.ayera.com was faster then http://www.travellerspoint.com. From a satellite connection.

Thanks and God Bless!

New York, both seem to be the same speed at this hour on cable.
