well I signed up for gnxonline about 10 days ago, and at first I stuffed up my DNS settings, and had them pointing to the wrong GNX servers.
(not being aware of this), I sent them an email asking what was wrong...I recieved two emails in response, from two different people. One told me what I knew already by then (wrong gnx server), and the other told me that it was still pointing to hypermart (lol...I dont think so)
Anyway, that's what made me first think....yikes!
Finally it got up and running, and it was slow. Very slow. However, things got better. On the second day they were fast (and they remained fast) with ping times of around 74MS.
I accessed my control panel (which I have to say - really blows). the "subdomains" are www.mydomain.com/users/~username. lol - what an odd subdomain ;) . I really was hoping for CPANEL or something though.
After uploading a .htaccess file, the file disappeared, and that directory no longer worked?
I emailed them, and 2 days later they said to use a better FTP client, and gave me a DOS based one. I used this, and it still didn't show anything being there! (even though I coulnd't delete the directory/access it/see it)
Enough was enough, I tried to terminate my account. At first it took a while, about 4 days before they responded. (after I threatened legal action, and contact worldpay - their credit card processor).
Anyway, I lost $10 US out of the 45US due to "admin charges" which I think it pathetic, but still better than being trapped.
If you want nothing other than a homepage will little scripting, it's great! otherwise I reccommend you keep your distance for now...
