Hi All,

I have a small company in need of a Virtual Dedicated Server somewhere. So far they all seem to come with some sort of admin / control panel. We really want just a bare (preferrably linux) install without the web based management. We are needing to run one IP based main site off the account and would use Apache name-based for a handful of minor domains that apply to our business.

Right now, we have a package that uses Ensim. It is nice but not suitable for our purposes as we are not resellers and it is too intertwined with the OS. We can install software and have root access to our hearts content but they understandably dont want you messing with apache but we just cant resist ;)

I realize Colo or Dedicated would be the best option but they are just out of our budget for the time being.

Can anyone help / provide suggestions etc? Again, we just need a Virtual Dedicated with a bare install that is around $70 or lower per month. Does such a thing exist?

Thanks!

Hello,

This should be no problem, if you contact most Ensim ServerXchange providers they should have no problem selling providing a server without the WEB GUI. You will get a bare bones server that you can customize and install applications.

Hey thanks for the info Matt, I'll definately look into it. Nothing against the Ensim product, it does look good but just not what we need at the moment. Thanks again!
