View Full Version : Can anyone else get to 9kd.net?
Austin 06-27-2001, 04:59 PM Can anyone else get to there site?
Anyhow I am getting really sick of there support. My hardrive crashed and I lost all my information, I cannot log into my cp or ftp because I can not find my username and password, I have tried my username and password that I could have sworn I used to sign up with. and I have tried the other ones that I use too. no aval there though.
I have emailed them asking for my username and password, nothing, I filled out a support ticket, nothing, all of this was on the 23rd or 24th.
Is there anything else i could do? I can not do anything to my website which needs heavy maintence right now, and im loosing members.
Thanks for your time.
Martie 06-27-2001, 05:07 PM at freewebspace...I think they've closed/shutdown.
http://freewebspace.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6803
MCHost-Marc 06-27-2001, 05:09 PM They closed down because they could not offer what they sold to their clients :)
Austin 06-27-2001, 05:11 PM WHAT???
So is there anyway I can get my files from the servers??
and my money back?
Martie 06-27-2001, 05:27 PM in trying to do so through them.
The post at freewebspace doesnt make it sound like you will have much luck going through them...and if that is the case you best contact your cc issuing bank and request they do a chargeback....for services not provided, etc.
big_smooth 06-27-2001, 10:12 PM Apparently, they're shut down....but....They're still providing service to their current clients for the next year. In 1 year's time, they will totally go out of business...
Until then, they will not accept any new clients, but serve their current clients..
This is according to their site...
Just a quick note that they are/were DonHost resellers. There are plenty of other donhost resellers out there, unfortunatly :bawling:
Get-Hosted.com 06-28-2001, 01:33 AM They are currently still Giving service to all current customers, but not taking any new customers on. A chargeback for services not received shouldn't work, because they are still servicing you.
SoftWareRevue 06-28-2001, 02:05 AM If they're still servicing me; then why doesn't my site work and why don't they answer my emails the past two weeks?

kickster 06-28-2001, 03:31 PM LOL I predicted this when they first posted their $15 yearly plan on WHT :)

3- Reality kicks in :unhappy: Statistical average does not work for small companies!! :crap:
4-company goes belly up :nuke:
determinist 06-28-2001, 06:31 PM I've just heard about them 2-3 weeks ago and now gone.. Here's their story.. http://9kd.net/
XTStrike 06-28-2001, 06:59 PM you know what im laughing sooooo hard now:

To the person who owned a hosting company and signed up intentionally to use over 50 GB of bandwidth per day

I was going to do exactly the same thing :D
I think this should be a lesson to everyone planning on jumping aboard the unlimited bandwagon.
A big host could actually take you out of business simply by "visiting" your web pages, lol
creepcolony 06-28-2001, 11:37 PM they didn't offer unlimited bandwidth, they offered 10gig
MCHost-Marc 06-29-2001, 12:12 AM 10GIGs/month for $15 (?!) a year is still too much :D I mean too much bandwidth ;)
determinist 06-29-2001, 01:34 PM Something i don't understand, since they're limited to 10Gb/monthly transfer.. they can always extra charge the fellow with 50Gb/day, in that case they should not be making a lose, so how does it affect them into closing down their business, or as what they've stated "abuse new web hosting business" (since customer pay for the extra bandwidth).
MCHost-Marc 06-29-2001, 01:37 PM I guess DonHost closed the account for bandwidth abuse ...
big_smooth 06-29-2001, 02:11 PM $15 /12Months /10 GB=$0.125/GB/Month
12.5 Cents a GB is pretty damn good...If I do say so myself...
KoRnholio 06-29-2001, 11:26 PM Well, I'm lucky. I signed up with them earlier this month. Ever since that notice went up on their front page, the downtime problems that were plaguing my site have vanished(apparently because they shut down that 50gig a day jerk). And that was the only problem before. I guess when my contract runs out in 11 months I'll have to find a new one though :)
SoftWareRevue 06-29-2001, 11:30 PM Good Luck!!
