Hello,

was thinking about reselling some domain names and have come up with the WorldPay/OPenSRS combination - is anyone using this ?

* Is it hard to set up?

* Will it work on the majority of virtual hosting solutions?

* cheers!

Brain,

I don't have any experience with WorldPay, but I did implement OpenSRS for one of our customers.

It will run on any machine that has cgi access, and perl. We implemented on a Win2K server, so others may be easier. There were perl modules that needed to be added at the system level.

You will really need to read the installation instructions thouroughly to make sure you get everything in place correctly. You will have to do a test to show that you know how to use their system. Count on an hour to do that. One thing that caught us is their need for the IP address of the machine it is installed on, not the web site ip address. We had everything working great against their test platform, and thought all we had to do is just change it to go live. That is when we got the e-mail asking for the ip-address. Once we figured out that it was the machine IP they wanted everything worked. Luckily the host did not have any problem giving us the IP for the machine.

I don't want to sound negative about the service though, the client has not had any problem with the system.

Hope this helped some,

seriously, many many thanks a lot for the information. The hosting service I plan to go with said their customers currently use that combination so hopefully there will not be any problems.
