I have this little problem in WHM ...some accounts are showing twice (in edit account, modify, etc.) but with different extensions.

In the "domain" field it shows the username twice like this:

harry.com
jimmy.com
sally.com
sally.com

And in the "users" field it shows:

harry
jimmy
sally
sally.tmp

What's up with the .tmp?!!

We get the same thing and when you have a fair few customers it pretty darn annoying, I just went and deleted the entry for the .tmp version from /var/cpanel

I did the same and the account was gone :D  But it didn't had any files yet ...so *phew*

Both accounts were gone or just the .tmp? Because I have a few of these but if it deletes both Ill just leave it ;p

DON'T DELETE IT! i learned the hard way by deleting one of the .tmp files it killed the users site. Web host manager really should place them in a "Removed" directory or something when you kill off sites...

We just delete *.tmp from /var/cpanel/users via a shell session. No ill effects, and doesn't affect the operation of the user's site at all. Deleting it from WHM, however, is bad news.

The accounts with .tmp have subdomains.
If you delete one of that.. you must delete both. the
name and
name.tmp

What? If you delete both, that's just as bad as deleting it from WHM - i.e., no site for the user to get back into, as their user has been zapped. The user must have an entry in /var/cpanel/users. They just don't need the .tmp entry, that's all.

Sorry I don't read your message.
I was talking about WHM not deleting through a shell.
Please excuse for the misunderstand.

Ah - still, I would not delete both name and name.tmp via WHM. You run into the same problem if you do. The user won't be able to access their site. Personally, I wouldn't delete any user from WHM. Terminate accounts, yes. Remove users, nope.
