How do I clean this up?
While learning about the server/WHM, etc. I had created some sub-domains through WHM for one of my accounts (As opposed to creating it through their own CPanel)

We determined that these accounts were not needed. SSsoooo....Last night, I deleted the DNS entries through WHM, but the subs still showed up. So I manually edited httpd.conf and that seemed to remove them. BUT...when you are in their CPanel and look at the "mail" accounts, you can still see the duplicated sub domains listed. (You know how CPanel creates duplicated addresses for all the e-mails at all the different sub domains.)

Question is, where do I clean this up. There must be another config file somewhere, or somewhere in WHM I am missing something.

Suggestions???

First place I'd check is /etc/valiases/, /etc/localdomains, and /etc/userdomains to make sure that the subdomain entries really are gone from within those files.

Thanks Annette,

The entries were still in the /etc/valiases/ and /etc/userdomains I was able to edit these files. However the same problem still exsists!

Just for the heck of it I also restarted Bind, apache, and the cppop.

I also added a new e-mail user. Guess what...it still created the user for all the "deleted" sub-domains.

Any other suggestions? :(

Did you ever come to a conclusion with this issue? It's been kicking around in my head for a bit while I've focused on other things. Something else occurred to me as I was poking around on something else - in /var/cpanel/users are all the users associated with sites on the server. Whever a sub is created, the system will put a DNSx=sub.domain.com into that file. Have you checked the master username for the account in that area to make sure it properly dumped the references to those subs? Just a thought...
