I recently purchased a FreeBSD server. My new website is completely coded with ASP. My question is would any default FreeBSD server support ASP.

My question is would any default FreeBSD server support ASP. JTY 06-27-2001, 02:55 PM In short, nope.... And I'm not sure if Chillisoft ASP or Instant ASP support FreeBSD. (SH)Saeed 06-27-2001, 03:07 PM I found this on their website, very interesting.. http://www.chilisoft.com/newforum/getthread.asp?searchmydate=All&recordnumber=15605&curID=15605&mydate=30&threadnumber=6810&threadname=Chili%21Soft+General+Support&threadtopic=ASP+and+FreeBSD&search=yes ckpeter 06-27-2001, 05:15 PM From what I know, InstantASP is free and is written in Java. That means it should run on FreeBSD. I have also heard of a FreeBSD host offering ASP, so there must be some product available. Peter JTY 06-27-2001, 05:57 PM You could always look into trying asp2php.... It might be able to convert your site.... drhonk 06-27-2001, 10:37 PM I don't think asp2php will be able to convert everything 100%. .. but won't hurt to try .. :) jw 06-27-2001, 10:42 PM anything that runs on linux will run on freebsd through the linux compat module. Apache has an open source asp module that can be compiled, so that may also work, though I hear it is very crude. TechnoHosts 06-28-2001, 09:09 AM since around the first post or second, I got the idea it wasn't possible. I surfed their site and found a RaQ 4 for the same price as what I payed. They hadnt even set the unix box up yet so the REP let me switch to the raq which has Chilisoft ASP. |
