Does anybody know where I can register a free .com domain. I already have a host awaiting it's domain.

Some webhosts give a domain for free when you BUY hosting from them... go to the offer forums and do a search!

If you get a FREE domain thrown in with your webspace, YOU won't actually own it and you will have to pay a fair amount of money if you want to move it at a later date.

Namezero.com used to offer free domains during the days that any idea with .com in it meant "get rich quick". Those days have been long gone since mid 2000. More and more sites which used to offer free services are starting to back out of it by either reducing what you get free, or add humongous and annoying banners. Also.. you complain about your free host showing banners. But honestly.. what do you expect? How would these companies ever make any form of profit if they were to offer the world for free without asking anything in return?

Namezero actually did give free domains... I remember having a bunch... but things do not last.

Nowadays: free domains dont exist. There is always some sort of catch/scam. Just go to www.PowerPipe.com and pay 7.99$ and buy it for a year. There is no other way.

Actually free domains do exist - with limitations. Theres a site, its somethingalien or aliensomething.com (not ACTUALLY something - I cannot remember the name) that gave out free.com and .net if you put up a banner
