Anyone else here find that once in a while you have a VERY bad connection to your server (website) hosted at RackShack and when you try to access even rackshack.net you have problems as well and when you try to access other sites not hosted at RackShack everything works fine?

I notice this quite often and would like to know if anyone else has this problem once in a while...

I have had this problem on a number of occasions. My monitoring logs show periodic latency times as high as 800ms. I think this has to due to a router at rackshack.net. When you do a traceroute, there are always some slow hops just before my machine.

Yes, definately. Even had a lengthy chat about it one night with tech support.

The problem usually is with a router between my and them, outside of ev1's network.

Yeah, its probably the 128k ISDN line they use as their main internet backbone connection. ;)
