Hi, I work for a design company that is looking to get into reselling web hosting. I'm looking for recommendations from people as to good, reliable web hosts. We have had major problems with messed up billing with another major host that we are currently using, so great customer support is key! Especially since we are new to this.

Here are more details of what we are looking for (numbers are flexible):

Windows dedicated or VPS server
1.7 GHz, 512 RAM (or thereabouts, something fast)
30-40 GB drive with some sort of backup drive
30-50 GB transfer
SQL server
At least 6 IPs allowed
Control panel for us and customers
Unlimited email addresses allowed
Some sort of web stats for each account on our server

Any recommendations? I'm NOT interested in solicitations. Rather, I want to know what real users have to say, not hosting sales people.

Thanks!

Zoe

Does anyone here have any suggestions? Most of the hosts that seem to be recommended in this forum do not have the kind of space we are looking for. One client alone is taking up 3 gb, so we definitely need a very large drive. One place that was recommended to be my another hosting company was handynetworks, but I don't know anything about them.

I'd love any recommendations from you gurus!

Thanks!

Well, I know you could try rackshack.

I suggest a managed server for you. You can find them here, and opinions about too.

You sound like you need a lot of support, so I'd suggest Rackspace.com (http://www.rackspace.com/products/recommended/windows.php).

They're one of the more pricey providers out there, but if support is what you want, then they could be a good solution for you.

Hope that helps. :)

maybe, venturesonline or theplanet.

You can also get an unmanaged server and pay someone like 50 bucks to have it managed for you. There are some very professional people over at RS forums.

50 bucks ain't gonna get you someone reliable.

Yes it will... I have worked with some very competent people in the past who knows their stuff and can benefit you tremendously. Just look for those server management plans that management sites offer and you will surely get something for your budget...

venturesonline is great but they only offer Linux servers, at least for the size I am looking for. I'll add theplanet to my list of places to check out (been so slammed lately I haven't been able to followup with these guys yet).
