Depends who you are giving that money to. 99 bucks can get you a hefty reseller account (maybe up to 7GB/70GB space/transfer) with all of the normal trimmings of course.

Or you could bebop on over to www.rackshack.net and pick up a nice (1.3GHz - 60GB drive - 400GB trasfer - 512MB RAM) for that same 99 bucks.

If it was me i would hop over to www.httpme.com and ask them what they can do for you for $99 a month, they are IMHO one of the best, if not THE best, reseller providers around...

$99 should easily get you 3-10 gb space / 75-100 gb of transfer.

But, then again like shoney said, with 99 you could just get a dedicated machine..

Yeah, you can, if you feel like running it.... a lot of people don't want to be bothered with that. I can't say I really blame them.

You do have a good point, it really does depend on your intentions and how much time you have to put into this upfront..

Also, it doesn't make "that" much of a difference since with a reseller you can't sell "that" many accounts anyway, but if you put $99 towards a dedicated server you get a Celeron 1.3, if you put it towards a reseller account - with httpme perhaps - then your on a Duel Xeon ;)

Another issue with the Rackshack suggestion is, if you're jsut starting out with a reseller account, you may not be experienced enough to handle admin'ing your own box.

However you'd need to add a cpanel license (if you'd want that), licensing fees for other software, manage the server, backups, etc. It can add up quickly :)

Question isn't really clear. Are you asking what type of reseller account you get for $99 a month? Or, are you asking what kind of site someone will develop for you for $99?

You can get a server and whm/cpanel for 99 a month..
We sell em all the time, but your right managment of the server and any other software would be something to consider..

If you cant manage a server then a dedicated solution would not be worth the trouble..

Even if you are capable of managing a server, is it worthwhile if you are starting out?

If you want to start out with $99 you might find around 8 GB space and 80 GB transfer with WHM/CPanel.
