Well I thought I would post this for anyone who has had problems with this really bad hosting company. After having them 'auto-renew' my account and charging my CC for another full year service, I went through quite a process to get it back. It did give me a few ideas as to how to deal with them, so I would like to share, for anyone else who may be in the same boat.

First of all, anyone who wants to cancel MUST email them at billing@siteturn.com and specify the domain name they want to cancel, the username for the account, and the date you want to cancel. (I would even suggest sending it in a few times over a few days)

After many email to their billing address, only one maili in particular was replied to. The contents? Simple: A very polite and formal (not angered) message stating that you really do not wish to use the 'chargeback' method (normally used when you can't get your money back), and are giving them one final ooporunity to reply and resolve the matter before you simply follow through. The topic of the email was "Final Request". ;)

I got a reply within 48 hours, and roughly 6 weeks later, my CC has a refund for the hosting charge of almost $150 they had 'auto-incurred'.

Note: I still have a mystery charge from them regarding a $17 'domain registration fee' (I reg'd the domain, not them), but I have been rather preoccupied, and I haven't had the time to continually pester them for it But because I have a nice long email history with them regarding ths topic, with proof that I reg'd the domain elsewhere, a chargeback is almost easier for this item.

Hope this helps out anyone who may be caught in the siteturn trap.

Later!

6 weeks later? Why did it take so long?

.... this is a good indication thata you have never used the services of SiteTurn. A good thing too. Their sales team is great at selling you... but once you are committed, there is no more support in any shape or form whatsoever. Instant Online Chat for anyone who has sales inquiries, but not even a help desk for support issues.

oh yeah... they also offer unlimited bandwidth.... one of the biggest hosting taboos. Any takers?
