View Full Version : Anyone heard of surpasshosting.com?
I'd Hit It 05-02-2003, 07:45 PM If there's anyone out there that has any experience with http://www.surpasshosting.com, please share. 2000 MB of web space and 30 GB of data transfers for only $10 a month is just too good to be true. But they did get good reviews from findmyhosting.com. So if someone has any info about surpasshosting.com, please share. - Thanks
hostpc.com 05-02-2003, 09:37 PM I think you probably said it best:
is just too good to be true
I've not heard anything good OR bad about them - but outrageous pricing usually means you wont see them online in 6-8 months - they can't survive
Tropical Tundra 05-03-2003, 03:07 PM I've been with surpass hosting for four months and I'm pleased with their services. They have a 91% customer rating from FindMyHosting based on 141 customer reviews. I don't know anything about host dime or their relation with Surpass Hosting but beware post from competitors since they're always looking to put the competition down so they have hidden agendas. I'm not a host just a satisfied surpass hosting customer. My site with them:
http://www.craalumni.com
Good luck!
surpass 05-03-2003, 11:46 PM I'd Hit It, thanks for inquiring about us, I believe we talked on AIM last night (how could I forget that screen name)
We currently have over 7,000 clients and are a very profitable company.
Good luck in your search!
nefadol 06-04-2003, 04:41 PM Well, they do have good customer service. I emailed them yesterday to ask some questions about their service and I got a reply with in hour. I believe it was the same person who replied to this thread.
Some of those that sound to go to be true are actually true. My current host is pretty good. http://www.worldwebhosters.com. But I can get what I'm getting now for $10 cheaper at Surpass.
surpass 06-04-2003, 04:44 PM Hey nefadol, thanks for the post!
XtremeDesign 06-04-2003, 07:26 PM I am a recent subscriber to surpass hosting. i purchased the Standard plan, and have been very happy.
Negative: i find that my emails do not go through to them. i do not know why this is, but it can be annoying. i have therefore given up on email support.
Positive: pretty much everything else. my site went down for 10min one day, but its not even finished yet so oh well ;). the forums are really good, most of the customers that register in the forums are more than happy to help each other (i am XtremeDesigns in their forums).
Their IM support is good, i have only once not seen at least 1 surpass rep on AIM.
great prices, great service. im 1 pleased customer :D
surpass 06-04-2003, 09:44 PM Thanks for the post about us!
If you cannot get your message through to support, you can actually create a help desk account and login with a name and a password whenever you have a problem. So there is no reason you can't get through to them... it's written on our support page
XtremeDesign 06-04-2003, 10:24 PM yep. just saying that email may be a problem for him
surpass 06-04-2003, 11:02 PM He got an email to us and I replied to him within an hour.. same system mail servers for sales as for support.
1 out of 80 people average can't get their email to the ticket system for some reason that is still being investigated. But you can create accounts at the help desk..
Just confirming again.
sandersans 06-05-2003, 01:49 PM I am a new customer of surpasshosting.com and I can say that I am very satisfied. The staff is extrememly friendly and server speeds kick butt. Support is not a problem and you will often find most of your answers in the forums. If not you can contact them via email which is usually repsonded to within a few hours. They also have a really cool helpdesk system that you can log into as well and submit a trouble ticket. If that is not enough, the staff is always on AIM ready to help you.
I have to say the forum are really helpful and are always the first place I go for help. Most of you will find the answer you are looking for their. Many customers who have support questions will post their answers in the forums so chances are you will find your answer quickly. People are always willing to help and share their knowledge/experience - and everyone is really friendly. Go check it out for yourself http://www.surpasshosting.com/forums (www.suprasshosting.com/forums)
I highly recommend surpasshosting!
sandersans
a HIGHLY satisfied surpasshosting customer.
surpass 06-05-2003, 01:58 PM sandersans,
I was just emailing you back! You wrote me an email the other day asking a few questions (that of course, could be waited on until today :) ) and just as I was about to send it I got a notification that this thread had another reply. Ironic!
Thanks for coming over and posting that, very nice of you.
H2O Studios 06-05-2003, 02:12 PM I was browsing another forum, and somebody said that they were amazing, if so, keep up the good work surpass :)
surpass 06-05-2003, 02:18 PM H20, thanks - what forum is it? :D
surpass 06-05-2003, 02:20 PM Jack, by the way- I really like the graphic on your site. It is very surreal. Please let me know when you are done with your site, it should be interesting.
H2O Studios 06-05-2003, 03:27 PM Thanks surpass, I've had lots of comments on it, people ask me everyday when its coming, I don't even know myself :D I'll post it in the website review forums when I'm done and drop you a PM, I finally finished the paper-concept after months of trying, and filling up about 7 bins with screwed up paper, so I'll put it into photoshop in the next few weeks :)
The forum was www.designerslounge.org/board
surpass 06-06-2003, 01:26 AM Thanks, Jack. I checked out the designerslounge, they have a good site implementation with Invision Board like our site does. :D
FredEH 06-06-2003, 08:20 AM Surpass,
Are you a reseller?
surpass 06-06-2003, 02:19 PM We have reseller plans, if that is what you mean.
I am sure that _must_ be what you mean... :eek3:
FredEH 06-07-2003, 02:33 AM I see. Are you affiliated with HostDime at all? I just noticed that surpasshosting.com is registered with them. And I also noticed that surpassdomains.com is very similar looking to hostdimedomains.com. HostDime also has an aim support name of DimeLive and you have SurpassLive.... I was just curious about these similarities.
FredEH 06-07-2003, 02:39 AM Nevermind. Just read your company info section :)
surpass 06-07-2003, 04:11 AM Fred, does that affiliation concern you? Please send me an email if you have any further questions.
FredEH 06-07-2003, 05:34 AM No no... sorry. I am a Hostdime customer and I was just curious :)
surpass 06-07-2003, 05:54 AM Ohh.. ok. :) Well, have a good day!
tarmyn2k 06-07-2003, 06:41 AM Hi,
I have been checking out your site from what I have read here.
I just have a couple of quick questions.
Can I upgrade the plan I am on at anytime?
I have a domain hosted somewhere else. How easy is it is to have it pointing to your hosting? Does it cost extra? I don't know much about domains :)
It would be great if you could let me know!
Tarmyn.
BTW, if it wasn't for these forums I would be signing up with someone else, who, it seems, is very dodgy according to the people in this forum :)
tarmyn2k 06-07-2003, 06:42 AM argh, sorry! This was meant to be in the topic below, pressed the wrong button... I have images turned off! :)
<<Mod note: now in the "topic below", merged>>
surpass 06-07-2003, 06:24 PM Tarmyn, did you get my PM? Please just email me, I don't come to WHT often (unless a post comes up about us). Thanks so much.
