I am getting a dedicated server soon. Currently I have a choice of choosing either one 40 GB HDD or Dual 20 GB HDD. Apparently Dual 20 GB HDD works out cheaper, I am just wondering if there is any difference between those 2?
Current Hard ware and software configuration:
PIII750
256 SDRAM
RedHAt6.2 with CP3 and WHM
Dual Embedded 10/100 NICs
100 GB/mo Transfer

If you only want a 40GB drive, then buy 2 seperate 20GB drives (this way if a drive goes you only have to replace the one) If you want 80GB I would get the 2 40GB's
my opinion.

Sorry for asking, but who are you going through for your server?
I agree with Chris about getting 2 - 20gig Drives. If one fails and you don't have good backup, then you only lose half the data plus, even if you do have good backup, only half your system will be down. You also might consider RAID.
Get a 40 GB or a RAID system.

If you're going to have dual hd's, I would strongly recommend using raid. It'll cost you more, but the day WILL come when you will be glad that you did.
