I thought some of you might like to know about a (brand) new online resource for those who manage a dedicated server, including those who would like to move up to one. The name is Share and the URL is http://share.virtual-support.net/
It's a collaborative effort by several administrators of dedicated servers, all pooling their talents and abilities for the benefit of others. I'm a part of it also and you may see me on the forums there.
Not much is up yet (the site has been operational less than a week), though the forums are operational now. Unlike sites like this one, the scope is not on how to find a host, but how to manage a dedicated server and make the most of it.
There will be programs, free and otherwise, to assist in all the common functions of a site, you may find someone on the forums to share a dedicated server with, and much more, including special pricing for dedicated servers with a very reputable company.
Note that the focus is not on getting people to get a server through us (though they can), but to help them with information on running one wherever it is located. Obviously then, co-located servers are included as well.
This is the only announcement of it I intend to make here, so if you have any other questions, or would like to volunteer your talents, please go to the site and post on the forums.
Thank you.
