I am looking for a system admin in California.

Keep in mind this not a full time job nor a steady one, you could possibly go a week or 2 without work.

Requirements:

- Very good knowledge of linux.
- Very good knowledge of apache, gameservers, and hardware.
- Ability to rebuild systems, build systems, install operating systems, format systems, and backup hard drives to our NAS located in another datacenter.
- Must be willing to train others to do the basics.
- Live within an hour of the airport in downtown San Jose (our servers are very close to there).
- Around to do remote system administration 2pm-10pm. (We have KVM to help out with this.)
- Around to make trips to the datacenter and do hands on work 2pm-10pm.
- Preferred knowledge of Perl/Bash/SOAP.

We will call you when work is needed, you will work remotely. If anything is needed that CANNOT be done remotely, then you can drive down to the datacenter and work on it.

Oh yeah, this would MOSTLY be remote, you would hardly ever, if ever, need to visit the datacenter.
