View Full Version : Uninstalling Software

I recently installed emuMail on the server but after testing it out, it didn't really do what I wanted. So I wanted to uninstall it and according to the directions on emumail's website, there was an rpm command for uninstalling the software on RaQ (Even though the file was of .pkg type). I went ahead and it seems as though the program is uninstalled and the directories for it gone. However, it still shows up on my list of "Installed Software" in the Control Panel. How do I get rid of that?

Thanks

IS there anything listed in the uninstallers directory for the script? I doubt it would run as it seems you've already uninstalled it, but what the hey. Otherwise, I'd think it would be fine just to ignore it.

go to /var/lib/cobalt/uninstallers en run the yourpieceofsoftware.uninst.

This is where the pkg uninstallers are stored.

What do you do when you are logged in as root and go to the uninstallers directory and ./filename and it says file not found when indeed it is there?

There is the possibility that you mistyped the file name (sounds simple but I've done this myself), or just type the file name, no './' ...

As root:
cd /var/lib/cobalt/uninstallers
file.name
