I'm starting off one reseller hosting company. What do you think about the first plans I should offer? Cost, space, bandwidth? Should I make any promotions like two months free, or what can you advice me?

TQ internext 05-01-2003, 01:31 AM If you are starting out you should not give things away for free. Four reasons 1. Makes you look desperate for business 2. You may grow quicker than you are prepared to (and with no revenue, mind you) 3. You will attract nightmare customers that you really dont want, who cannot afford to pay you in the first place, once your free promotion expires 4. You are new and you need to make money ***not*** give it away... **exception: 2 months free with annual payment (If you charge $20 per month, charge $200 per year rather than $240)... If your client can afford to make an annual payment, they are looking for value in committing their money, and not simply looking for freebies. Also look into value-added services that compliment your hosting solution (like domain registration, script installation, etc) If you are able, network in your local community and help out some "real-world" clients. Service them well, and you will be seen as an asset, not a commodity. In this way, you will get referals who do not look for free things from you or even the lowest cost. Good luck Eric internext 05-01-2003, 01:54 AM Hard to say what kind of plans to start off with. It really depends on how much space you have, how much you pay for it, and what level of profits you need. I'm sure others will be able to give you more specific feedback than me on this.
