Note: the 500GB/m is on direct connectivity to around a 100 networks (peers & major tier 1 transit providers).
$ilver 04-29-2003, 03:03 PM so the windows liscense is included in this setup for 119 a month ?
hjass 04-29-2003, 03:06 PM My apologies for the ommission. Add $45/m for Windows.
RHL & FreeBSD are at the price indicated, Windows is +$45/m.
For more details, please see http://www.superbservers.net
aliasjoe 04-29-2003, 07:24 PM How many IPs can we request throughout our service with you if we sign up?
how much do they cost, if anything?
hjass 04-29-2003, 07:27 PM You can request however many IPs you want, though we limit it to 255 (C block) per server requested at one time, but if more are fully justified, that is fine, too.
IP pricing is as on our site:
Additional IP (One time $0.00, $1.00/m)
i.e. $0 setup, $1/m ea. IP.
aliasjoe 04-29-2003, 07:44 PM How many does the server come with initially, only two? Also, why do you charge for IPs?
hjass 04-29-2003, 07:51 PM IPs are charged for due to costs associated with allocating and maintaining IPs, to help cover ARIN costs, and to discourage customers to try to use IPs for unjustifyable purposes.
For more, please see:

tandem 04-29-2003, 09:15 PM Does each Miva license require a unique IP?
hjass 04-29-2003, 09:19 PM No, but it is recommended for SSL (HTTPS).
keith70 04-29-2003, 09:57 PM What type of support is offered on these servers?
What type of manangement is on these servers?
hjass 04-29-2003, 10:09 PM There is a managed server option available, the "Premium" line of servers.
For more details on this and the specifics of the service, please see http://www.superbservers.net
aliasjoe 04-30-2003, 07:56 AM This thread says its for $119/month but your site says we only get it for $119/month if we prepay or do a 12month contract. So through this thread we can get it for $119/month without the lengthy contract or upfront costs?
If so, you can count me as a sale.
cambo 04-30-2003, 08:09 AM Ip to ping plaese??
keith70 04-30-2003, 09:49 AM Can you offer a "managed or semi-managed" on this package?
hjass 04-30-2003, 10:00 AM There are no long term contracts. Any service can be cancelled at any time given 30-days notice with no penalty and all prepaid money will be fully refunded.
As per the offer expiring today, you can get free set-up ($145 value) and free Ensim WebAppliance Pro (optional). These offers can be combined with the term payment discounts. Note that it is only term payment, no contract (while with others even though you pay monthly, you are locked in for a year -- that is not the case with us, you can cancel anytime).
The test site was given earlier. It has outgoing trace, downloads, stream tests, etc. Once again, it is http://slsdemo.dca2.superb.net (66.36.230.63).
As for managed/semi-managed, you can buy an hour or advanced support per month at $90/hour (on a monthly basis, doesn't have to be recurring).
aliasjoe 04-30-2003, 05:17 PM Just so I'm on the right page with you, explain this in lamens terms..
This server for me will me $119 with no contracts or long term commitments a month. If I wish to cancel my service, the only catch is I must give a 30 in advance notice of my cancellation.
Correct? I can afford $119 a month, and cannot prepay for months ahead so thats why I need to figure this out ASAP because if this is the case - I'll get a server from you.
Can this deal extend for current buying customers who buy before May 1st? ie. I buy a server now for $119/mo and can get another next month for the same deal since I was one of the originals.. ?
Must I pay now, or when the server goes live?
hjass 04-30-2003, 07:04 PM All the information is on the site. Please go to http://www.superbservers.net/services/promo03.php
or
http://www.superbservers.net/services/linuxplus_details.php
No committments, it is $119/month if you pay for a year (can cancel at any time, no term committment).
$135/m if you pay for 6 months or $145/m if you pay every 3 months or monthly (same comment).
The free set-up is only valid for about half an hour longer, then it will be taken off. We are starting work on site to change it to regular set-up fees ($125 Linux, $145 Windows 2000 & BSD).
If you need two servers, you should order that right now.
Payment is due when placing order. Servers are set-up within a few hours, always less than 24 hours, usually in some 2-4 hours.
We have had about 40 server orders just today, so it may be until tomorrow until it is set-up, as the volume of orders has exceeded our expecations (instead of 2-4 hours, today and tomorrow set-up may take some 4-12 hours).
aliasjoe 04-30-2003, 08:27 PM I went to order and when I got to the payment page it told me there was a $125.00 set up fee per server. You said this offer was good until May 1, 2003
Please reply soon so I may still order while this offer is still good. I really, really wanted a server through this promotion. I'll try ordering again once I know that this error has been fixed.
Actually, I'm still going to order since your site says its on all pre-orders before tomorrow so I hope this set-up fee is a mistake and just voids itself until tomorrow for customers now signing up, like me.
hjass 04-30-2003, 08:33 PM The service set-up price was put back into place about 30 minutes ago, but the site was not updated today as planned to.
Since the site is being updated to remove the special offer early tomorrow morning, we are changing it back to $0 setup for the next 12 hours in the billing systems.
So, check back in a few minutes and it will be $0 set-up again.
Only good for some 12 hours more.
So, yes, it will be $0 set-up on the order form. Check back there around 9pm Eastern (6pm Pacific).
hjass 04-30-2003, 08:37 PM 'tis done. You can go and place the order now at $0 set-up still... only up for some 12 hours longer. Tomorrow morning it is going to $125/$145 standard set-up for good.
aliasjoe 04-30-2003, 11:57 PM Thanks so much! I ordered one and am seeing if I can pull the money together for one or two more.
I have more questions..
How much more is it per additional mbit?
hjass 05-01-2003, 12:06 AM Great! Glad to hear that. :-)
All the pricing is as on site.
I quote:
* Additional value-priced traffic (in excess of 500GB) will be billed at $75 for 100GB.
An alternative option is:
Unlimited traffic 10Mb/s port (One time $0.00, $375.00/m)
which will give you unlimited traffic, with a port speed set to 10 Mbps on a 100 Mbps port
