If you just change the password back I guarantee it will be re-hacked within a day or two. If the cracker got in through one of your client's sites then this may keep happening even after you restore from a backup. For this reason, it is best to keep up with security in the first place to avoid a situation like this. No amount of patching is going to make up for a badly written script. Though running it in a chroot might help..
