View Full Version : "Hard limit" on bandwidht

I am looking for hardware or software that helps me
set an hard limit on how much bandwidht a dedicated
server can use.

The servers are hosted on an E3 with a Cisco 7120.
The 7120 is suppose to have "advanced bandwidht
management", but I can't find anything in the documentation
explaining this. At least not in the documentation provided
by UUnet along with the router.

So what I would like to do is to give a certain server
(or a certain IP-address) a designated amount of
bandwidht (a dedicated pipe). For example the server
should not be able to exceed 256 kb/sec.

Thanks for any help or ideas on this issue,

www.etinc.com unless you like paying $10K or more to Packeteer and others.

Try FREEbsd version - works like a champ. Could never get it to work in Linux (O/S issue, not the sw.)
