View Full Version : Hosting Companies: how long running?

I, Brian

I thought perhaps it would be good to start a thread, where various hosting companies could state when they actually began trading as a company. That could serve as an interesting frame of reference for other members, and provide invaluable information for others to use.

Anyway, who's game? Company name, date trading began?

FutureQuest began its venture in January of 1998. Our first 'real client' was setup on June 11th 1998.

We've been having a blast every since! :D

when you say "REAL" client, so your saying you set up imaginery accounts to make yourselves feel better so it felt like you did have customers. :D (joke)

I first got into hosting in 93-94 using a host who is still around now :D
That never opened to public, and I got out of this to do consulting for fortune 500 compaines (server support (windows/os2))

I then got back into this in 3-2001 and went on learning and reading up etc etc...

I officially opened my current hosting venture in oct 2002 and doin great ;)

Hosting Matters was started on May 1, 2000 and had three real clients (as opposed to our company/personal stuff) the same day. Coming up on three years next week....what a ride.

PrestigeTechnologies.com opened its doors 1 year ago.

We have been in the business for 4 years, and then decided to venture on our own. We are enjoying the ride.

Well gee wiz... if we're going pre-current biz name then we started reselling hosting and designing/programming web sites back in 1995 - Prior to that I was just an end user and hubby was a security guru...gosh that seems like forever ago!

Well, we opened our doors last month. But we use a copyright date of 1994 on our website to lie and fool customers. Does that count?

SuckAssHost has been in operation since July of 1946. Of course, our primary business was reselling used pencils until last tuesday, when we expanded our operation to include hosting. We are now an industry leader, setting the bar for other hosting companies such as Interland and Verio.

We began in December, 2002.

We're new, but experienced. Personally, I ran an ISP before running WebSpaceFusion and my co-workers have experience with web hosting servers.

We started back in Nov - Dec 1996 with USAWebsite. We brached off and started our own, Cyber World Internet Services, Inc (cwiservices.com) in June 1997, and then finally changed our domain to cyberworldhost.com in August 2000 and now operate as Cyber World, Inc.
