how i can do this?
my friend bought a domain and in order for the full funniness (is that a word?) of it to come through, one of the letters in the url has to remain a capital letter. but, obviously, because it is shared hosting, it changes back to lowercase once you go to it.
is there a script out there that i can use to mask it to force it to stay uppercase?
(i'd give the url, but i can't yet. it's a secret until it's done. :)).

I don't understand your question. Why would it change the case of the letter in the URL, simply because it's on a shared hosting account? Can you give an example of the problem by showing us what you mean? Also, do you mean the URL as in the /path, or the domain.com part of the URL? I'm just going to assumg, quickly here, that you mean it's something like Funk-E-Town.com and you click on a link (which goes to http://www.domain.tld/path/here.html) and it results in the Funk-E-Town.com becoming funk-e-town.com? (well, I say this, because it applied to /url/paths as well) If so, just change all the links to have the upper case in the URL of the link (or redirect) to have the uppercase. Or, alternatively, just drop the http://www.domain.tld/path/to/file.html and just have the link or redirect as /path/to/file.html without the http://etc... at the start. Of course, I may have grossly misunderstood your question/problem and this server might also be doing some URL rewriting or something -- which seems odd to force on people. Why, exactly, can't you have upper case in the URL on this host?

He want's the Joke.com to stay Joke.com in your address bar... but when you go to an address it will make it lower case and make it joke.com. He wants to know if there is a way to keep it uppercase, and I have no clue.

You might be right, but where did you get that impression of the problem? Although I'm still not sure what would that have to do with shared hosting either.

ok. forget i said anything about shared hosting! :stickout
Get-Hosted was correct. for example, my website: http://Blar.org/
if you click that link, the capital B will change to a lowercase b in the address/location bar of the browser. let's say that i want the B to stay uppercase. is there a script to mask the url to remain uppercase?
thanks. :cartman:
p.s. i'm a she. ;)

I have no idea then, how I was so far off in guessing what your problem was. Sorry about that. Anyway, I use Netscape and I visited http://Blar.org and I clicked on the link for the disclaimer from that site and I the location bar said http://Blar.org/disclaimer.htm ... is this perhaps only a problem in IE?

it looks like an IE problem...
i think, he just want it for looks. i mean the domain looks nice if the first letter is in caps.
