the best person to ask is your webhost, should be a good test to see how good there support staff are :)

What do you mean by "set up my website"? Have you already chosen a web host and paid for the service? Do you already have a site design and just need help getting it up there? With a more detailed message we might be able to point you in the right direction.

I need someone to either set it up for me or go through step by step on how to do it. I sent in a request for help to my host, hopefully I will get a response quickly. I am very confused as I am new to all this and I want it to be a nice looking website for my new business.

so you want to design a website yourself, or get someone to design it for you?
designing your own website with no knowledge is a very steep learning curve.

hmmm, you'll have to name your budget as in general web design doesnt really come cheaply.
give us a price?

About $200 is all I can afford. Im just looking for a one time set up then I can manage it from there.

Well hopefully your host may have some suggestions for you..it doesnt sound like the host offers any website creation tool. Some will offer the tool built into your control panel and then its essentially point and click to make a site. You do have some alternatives though. There are many sites that offer free templates, and you might even look at the "Related Offers/Requests forums for some people selling templates. Plenty of those will even customize them for a small fee.

Tina, I'd be happy to help you find a designer to fit your budget. Tell me what kind of design your looking for, and I'll guide you through. PM me if you wish.

Hi Tina, nice to meet you.

I totaly understand what you are going through. A couple weeks ago, I was on the phone with people wanting $10,000 - $18,000 for a website. Don't get me wrong, good websites can cost $$$, but at this time, I am unable to spend that much. So, I decided to learn how to do my own. It is really scary at first, but I know I will get the hang of it.

I know of a really affordable lady, and she is nice. Great communication too. Her website, http://www.dynamicwebdesignz.com/

I wish you luck!

www.mad-sky.com and click on the elemental designs link.

Free templates for you to use (just change the text). Also contact the webmaster as she'll more than likely be happy to design a site just for you for a lot less than $200.

And when you need help fixing things on your own, feel free to contact me as well. I'm sure I can help you out. I have helped quite a few newbies by now. I even have a growing collection of tutorials on webdesign, that I write myself in my spare time.

I could probably design something nice from scratch for $200, but as most webdesigners, I have my own style, as you can see from my website :).

So... examin your offers, Clau, look through templates, and if you find anything you like and can afford, then choose that. If not, then feel free to ask me or any other designer you "talk" to.

Is it just me or does there seem to be a lot of advertising going on in this thread?
I think this should be in requests.

Hey, blue - you took the thought right off my brain. Seems like this post should be moved to a different forum with all the direct offers going on. It's certainly nice to help out other members, but this forum is typically for advice not offers...

Well it hasn't been moved yet. Perhaps this would be better in the Job Offers and Requests forum or the Related Offers and Request forum? I'll contact the mods...

Well one or two people did make direct offers (mine doesn't count as I recommended someone else for the job, not myself) so it should be moved to related offers I guess. Anyone reported it yet though?
