OK im signing up with an NT webhost and getting arounds 3gig bandwidth. Is there any way i can conserve my bandwidth??

Don't have any files on your website.

I guess the two biggies would be.. don't run a forum, and make sure your graphics are optimised as much as possible. Reuse them where you can across the site.

There's not a lot too it really. Just keep in mind that whatever is on your site, ends up on someone's computer. The less there is in terms of file size, the less transfer you'll incur.

Yes, akashik is correct and you might want to prevent the hotlinking of your sites images too...

We have a music/band site that is using over 48GB(Current Bandwidth Report: 48170.048 MB
) and its only been less than a month :eek2:

i host all my pictures on my isp (aol) to save bandwidth :D

and to really be cheap to save bandwidth, say something like "this site is closed on sundays" and always shut your site down on sundays!

Two words: text only!

You'll be able to do a fair bit of pageviews before you hit your bandwidth limit this way.

Okay, offer to host Yahoo.com free for a day, then when you put up you're own site you will notice a DRAMTIC drop in bandwidth use. I GUARANTEE IT!! :D
