All of those really do apply to me. :bawling:
That's just spooky!!!
Don't forget untied hightops and the refusal to pick up your feet when you walked.... along with the bandannas around the legs...
I can't deny having "big hair" with a pink streak...
I'm going to go be depressed about my age now. Thanks for ruining an otherwise good day :stickout:
Lesli 04-22-2003, 09:27 PM I tie into about half of those.
Depressed about your age? Tchah - until we're in the triple digits, I'm not going to worry. And by that time, all senior citizen homes will be equipped with Internet connections so we can all blog at each other and leave the attendants alone :)
And that list leaves off such golden phrases as "Gag me!" and the delightsome accompanying gesture. Always remember, if you're going to actually do that for whatever silly-arse reason, do not bite down on your own finger. It looks pathetic, and can hurt if you have a strong jaw.
Acroplex 04-22-2003, 09:40 PM I just recently met Debbie Gibson. She's gorgeous :D
Neo3Net 04-22-2003, 10:19 PM Hmmm I was born in 87 and most if not all of those apply to me too :) Kinda scarey :( I gotta show that to my sister...
slade 04-22-2003, 10:42 PM 2, 9, 14, 36, 37,46, 48, 52
22. You know the profound meaning of "WAX ON, WAX OFF"
As one of the turtles so plainly put it: Doesn't Everybody?
RjackSaun 04-22-2003, 11:04 PM Anyone else run right out and buy a fedora just like Indiana Jones had in Raiders Of The Lost Ark? I still have mine somewhere.........:o
Shyne 04-22-2003, 11:50 PM You remember boom boxes vs cd players.
What was this all about?
Revnet 04-22-2003, 11:50 PM someone get the 90's list because half of the people who run web hosting businesses around here grew up during that time :D
Now that's sad, I think I can relate to all of them. :(

No but my mom was forced to make replica outfits from Karate Kid for my brother and me:) I wonder where those went...
Anyone actually have the fraggle rock theme song? I think I have it somewhere on my computer:-p
11. You can sing the entire theme song to "Duck Tales".
Life is like a hurricane,
Here in Duckburg!
Racecars, lasers, aeroplanes, it's a duckblur!
Might solve a mystery, or rewrite history,
Ducktales, woo hoo!
Every day they're out there making Ducktales, woo hoo!
(Something something) look behind you,
There's a stranger out to find you,
(Something something)
Just grab on to some Ducktales, woo hoo!
Now let's see who can remember the Talespin, Care Bears, Rainbow Bright, and My Little Pony themes.
JonathanVH 04-23-2003, 02:30 AM Sad enough, even at 18, I can remember 90% of those things, except the NKOTB; I had heard of them, but thats about it, even at that, I did not think they were cool so to speak :).
I am sure the list could be extended :)
rockergrrl 04-23-2003, 03:06 AM Just about everyone of those apply to me.
When I was 5, I use to think I was Punkie Brewster. I use to wear different colored socks...and bandanas on my legs... and two different shoes... I use to have a pair of Cons like she wore on the show... lol

Funny you should mention Deborah (as she likes to be called). She's actually my idol. I've been a fan (yes, still am a fan), of her's since Out of the Blue came out. I wrote her letters many times, and every single one of them she wrote back to me (yes, it was her handwriting). And I have numerous autographs, magazine clippings and posters (yup, still).
She's the reason why I got into singing, playing the piano, and performing. I spent many an hour singing along with her tapes. Perfecting my voice. Granted I don't have perfect pitch like she does... but I'm very close to it.
I owe everything to Deborah.
Call me sad... but I'm still a fan of her's... and a long time member of her fan club (yup, still am! lol).
rockergrrl 04-23-2003, 03:09 AM I'm a very sad sad person....
I know the fraggle rock theme song... by heart... (I have half a dozen videos - my 3 year old son loves them).
Dance your cares away,
Worry's for another day.
Let the music play,
Down at Fraggle Rock.
Work you cares away,
Dancing's for another day.
Let the Fraggles play,
We're Gobo, Mokey, Wembley, Boober, Red.
Dance your cares away,
Worry's for another day.
Let the music play,
Down at Fraggle Rock.
Down at Fraggle Rock.
Down at Fraggle Rock.
DarktidesNET 04-23-2003, 04:20 AM I remember 99% of that. :)

Something I found.. Some of them are actually funny (brings back some memories)...
You know you grew up in the 80's if..
Parachute pants, where is parachute pants? You can't have M Jackson mentioned without mentioning parachute pants. You know, the ones that made the WHOLE school go sweesh sweesh sweesh when the bell rang?
Where is Atarii?
Where is the portable Atarii consoles, anyone remember those? Many an hour I spent moving that little stick around on that stupid thing, my highest score was about 6 double a batteries
Pack-man, Asteroids, Space invaders. Double Pack-man at the Pizza Hut on Saturday night, right after a good sweating romp at the old Skate-a-way rink, nothing would make that huge bump on your head, and those carpet burns from the walls of the skating rink feel better than double-pack-man, pineapple pizza and a Dr. Pepper with peanuts.
Where is those laser disks, you know, the ones that were 78 rpm's in a case (no not THOSE rpm's, the ones that turned in circles), can't remember the name (oh no, is this what old age feels like!), Saw my first Friday the 13th on those disks, and ring of bright water <sniffle>, and can anyone say----Airplane....
Fraggle rock did rock, I occasionaly see them on PBS now, not the originals though :(
How about when meet me after school meathead meant someone was going to get a bloody nose, and didn't mean bring your UZI or your dope (well, maybe bring the dope :D )?
Riding in the back window of dad's t-bird looking at the stars go by on long trips, pondering the simple things, like when is dad going to hit the brakes again and slide my but back in the floor.
The shuttle Columbia?
....and one thing that still bothers me to this day, Why was smurfette the only girl? Why was brainy so stupid sometimes, and why didn't old what's his name just use sticky mouse traps and swat the little buggars before they had a chance to come up with an escape plan?
Damn, I want to go back, if I knew then what I know now, I'd sure as heck want to do more of it :)
Reptilian Feline 04-23-2003, 07:39 AM Atarii - is that the one with LYNX in orange? Because I still have one of those with games.
And then we have McGyver and Miami Vice, and a few other TV-shows like that :)
And synth-music...
The 80's... I was just the right age to remember that, as well as the transfer from the 70's.
You hear something on the radio, and you think " that's a nice song" even if you don't really like it, just because it used to be on the radio all the time during the 80's.
Now everybody together: NOSTALGIA!!!!

DarkTides: "I remember 99% of that." How could that be... theres about 50? You remember 49 1/2 of them? hehe :P i know what ya mean.
Parachute pants goes with MC Hammer I think. Its the same bandwagon. haha
rockergrrl 04-23-2003, 03:35 PM Yup, Parachute pants goes with MC Hammer.. :)
Michael Jackson either wore leather pants... or regular black pants...
DarktidesNET 04-23-2003, 03:44 PM Well.................. busted :o

alapo 04-23-2003, 06:25 PM Damn... Way scary!! 100% true! What is the 90s generation growing up on? Last I saw most of those things were still 'cool'... I think anyways.

If I recall correctly, (dates are fuzzy) that Michael Jackson wore a red leather jacket and black parachute pants in his video for thriller (colors might have been reversed), or was it that other billy jean video, but yeah, late 80's parachutes came in and died before the end of 1990. But I never remember him wearing anything "normal" :) Reason I remember him wearing parachutes is my "at the time" girlfriend was a MJ nut, and she didn't start wearing those stupid things until she saw him wearing them once.
Didn't he catch on fire about that time?
