View Full Version : Beware of EliteWebservers.net
labby 04-22-2003, 03:02 PM I had 2 domains with them. Within a day of signing them up, the server crashed for a weekend. I decided I didn't want both of my domains on the same server so I asked for a refund on one which they did refund immediately.
After the weekend crash they asked me to move my files to the better more secure server which I did. Two weeks later I was asked to again move my files to another server. Each time I moved, I lost clients who post on a bulletin board on my site. It was then I decided I didn't want to move my files anymore and asked that they cancel my service and refund my fees.
I asked for this refund within their 30 day guarantee on my other domain and so far they haven't refunded my money. They keep promising to, but haven't actually done it. I've asked numerous times and now they won't even answer my emails. They still owe me $71.95 in fees.
I just wanted everyone to be aware of this host's practices.
inkhead 04-22-2003, 06:48 PM This happens with lots of hosts. Most likely the refund gets tossed around through the billing department. I'm sure if your polite and not demanding somebody will take the extra time to see the issue through.
Give it a shot. best of luck.
Stephen 04-22-2003, 06:51 PM Watch them wait till your 30 day guarantee is up then they send you an email saying that your guarantee is up and they won't refund your money.

i dont think EliteWebservers.net will do such thing, because thats just very wrong and pathetic at the same time.
I think it might be because of the fact that they offer Unlimited bandwidth for all of their plans and all these features
http://elitewebservers.net/hosting.html
check it out, their site should be listed in the rediculous hosts thread
labby 04-23-2003, 06:06 PM Yes I learned my lesson with the unlimited bandwidth "tease". Now they are blaming me for my delay in getting my refund back. Sheesh.
Wreckless 06-25-2004, 04:23 AM Well this would be a definate I am now having problems with the ethics of this host. So far he is holding my domain hostage, because he purchased it for me, and pretends that it is a big deal to unlock it so I may transfer. I am posting the email I sent with the reply he gave. BEWARE very harsh language if allowed here. I have set to get emails to replies.
Dont,
Talk **** ******. Either get your **** off my servers or shut your ****ing
mouth. You are nothing but a pile of **** man You are nothing and youll
remain nothing.
Also another thing run your mouth one more time to me or any of my support
members and you will be terminated for the same thing.
its a direct violation of our TOS
Your stuff is all up and its been up. You can not bann a EWS Admin from your
TS server Bottom line. So how about you just shove it all up your *** the
whole way.
Dont even bother emailing me ever again.

essexguy 06-25-2004, 05:08 AM that is quite shocking, and now 2 people with bad problems with them both.
i would not normally condone this, but if you do not get your money back then i would suggest thinking about a charge back.
and in future stay away from hosts who offer unlimited disk space and/or bandwidth.
Wreckless 06-25-2004, 05:18 AM The funny part is he set it all up for me on a friend level our gaming clan hung out abit with his clan a bunch.. Issues formed now I'm a customer that gets dumped on. He came into the voice server that I rent from him where me and 3 of his admins were resolving it all when he came in it was mf this and mf that and was screaming I couldn't even talk. I said your not going to talk to me like that! again with the mf this and mf that then we all heard Player Banned! and then even his admins said sorry wouldn't fly in their house either.. within 2 minutes my web and teamspeak server was shut down 1 minute after I sent my email they went back up.
Man how can someone even get bussiness like that.. I know other people that he knows many of them are trash talkin him at this point.. He doesn't want a bussiness he wants to be god. I won't be strong armed and yes I can be an A** sometimes, but I in noway instigated any abuse from a bussiness to it's client.
Also I'm a very nice guy, untill crossed wrongly.
I also assure you that is a 100% legit email and reply!
morehost 06-25-2004, 07:16 AM strange enough.. How cud someone use such a language with customer... and even customer shudn't use such language...
Maybe all of us need moral science classes once again ;)
Glanhosts 06-25-2004, 11:07 AM Sorry about your case....Hope things turn out better for you...
Good Luck
:wavey:
Wreckless 06-25-2004, 03:41 PM I used no bad language the mf i used in the email was a quote of him in our voice server, and the talkin trash to his support was no more than being a little peived saying it takes you less time to unlock my domain than to write me a nasty letter! and I'm in que?
lumbyjj 06-25-2004, 11:59 PM Man, there's no reason that a business should ever send their client an email like that. That is just inexcusable and childish..
jmcgon 06-26-2004, 12:38 AM The host is 14? IMHO you overpaid by about 100 dollars for 6 months.
File something on him in small claims court. I bet he will roll over.
lumbyjj 06-26-2004, 01:12 AM I may have missed something, but where did you get that the host was 14?
Wreckless 06-26-2004, 01:29 AM the host isn't 14! The host is an adult that things he can screw anyone because he is angry.
Marque 06-26-2004, 01:30 AM lumbyjj,
I think jmcgon was guessing the age based on his attitude/language.
lumbyjj 06-26-2004, 01:49 AM That's fair enough... He acts like he is, I just thought I might have missed something..
