View Full Version : Website Review activity
Dogma 06-21-2001, 09:54 PM I want to say a few things I've noticed about the Website Review and Critic forum is that most people just post there asking for a review and don't give any reviews.......I personally give a lot more reviews then I post sites for review. I would just like to see more activity there, but maybe it's just me........
Anywho, had to vent
MikeM 06-21-2001, 10:04 PM Well, personally, I'm not much of a designer, I like things simple...... I dont generally have much to add to the more constructive stuff... Most of the sites i've seen are well beyond my scope of coding, so i just look.
Capri 06-22-2001, 12:17 AM I just joined this forum, I plan on reviewing a lot of sites for fun. I'm not a professional, but I know a lot about nothing, and very little about everything. Haha. :)
alpha 06-22-2001, 01:13 AM i read and click on all the links that are posted for review... but sometimes i really don't post review unless there something that catches my eye...
from now on, ill post more reviews ;):D
Dogma 06-22-2001, 01:32 AM I don't post all the time either and I'm not saying that everyone should post their. What I'm saying is that if you want a review, you should give some others a review!! Give and take.
TheComputerGuy 06-22-2001, 07:24 AM good point, i used to post a lot but lost intrest because there was only one or two people doing it,
XTStrike 06-22-2001, 07:57 AM hey get posting in there guys/gals.
dont you all take joy out of telling people the right royally cocked the site up?
I mean, if ive got time to throw a jpg together for someone and post it in there as an example of how to do a little better then you people can throw a couple of lines together as a demeaning comment?
The very core point of this topic explains why the majority of webmaster forums out there moderate their Reviews forum so that everyone must do x amount of reviews before being allowed to post their own request (a concept which I previously hadn't understood  ).
I really have no intention of doing it here, so I encourage everyone to drop in and help each other out with constructive reviews whenever possible :D
Lonny 06-22-2001, 08:38 AM I think the moderators should do the same thing as on Sitepoint.com
allow to post a site to review, only after the user reviews 3 sites himself.
XTStrike 06-22-2001, 09:00 AM nah, dont like that idea personally.
we should all simply use common sense, please dont prove the previous thread right that common sense is dead and burried !!
(SH)Saeed 06-22-2001, 09:20 AM I always look at the websites, but don't reply that much. There are a couple of reasons for that...
1. I really don't have any opinion about the website.
2. I'm very picky and demanding, and therefor might think the website is not good enough.. But then I think not everyone is a designer/developer, and I don't want to post a negative reply.
It would be nice to have poll for a website review maybe.. So you can grade it 1 - 10.
Dogma 06-22-2001, 12:02 PM that would be nice. I sometimes see some "painful" sites (not mentioning any..........) and I can't respond to them for fear of scaring them for life, but there are some great designs there and help is nice!!!!
