View Full Version : Tera-byte...kabooom!
Kunal 08-22-2000, 02:30 AM Hi,
Well I got an account with tera-byte. There 4th plan. I requested them to install Python for me, but they bluntly refused coz they cant provide support for it. Well anyways, they have there rules and stuff. So now I need a new paid host who would give me php, python, and perl. I am looking for a plan that will cost me abt 0-10$ USD :) Any ideas?
jtan15 08-22-2000, 10:24 AM Kunal,
Send me an e-mail or post your address. I've got a solution for you. :)

kunal 08-22-2000, 02:03 PM Hmm.. you guys offer unlimited space with restricted bandwidth. A complex smart and truthful lie, but yet a lie :)

Not necessarily. You have the option to upload as many GBs of files as you want. So truthfully speaking, we offer unlimited disk space. Bandwidth fees may comply. But if you want to upload less than 1000Megs, you won't be charged. And that will handle practically any web site.
BTW: The ProWeb account offers the same deal. Unlimited disk space and a bandwidth fee after 10GBs
But wouldn't you say it's better for us to offer unlimited disk space and charge for bandwidth, then instead offer unlimited disk space and have somewhere in nice small letters that it truly only means 200MB? Or simply boot people once they upload 500MB? I just hope that you don't rule out JTAN as an option simply because of the fact that unlimited disk space is offered and there is a bandwidth cap. Truthfully, unlimited disk space is offered. But we do have to have SOME way to pay for hard drives. :)

... Isn't that statement a contradiction?
The words #unlimited# and #unmetered#... if you look up in the Oxford Dictionary you'll find the definition.
No, it would be better to say "default account is 600MB but can be increased to 2GB, charges applies if the transfer goes beyond 10GB etc etc".
If you want to have customers and word of mouth the only way is to offer professional service. This is not.

So, TRUTHFULLY speaking, unlimited disk space is a lie. Period. You said it yourself in your contradictory statements. You claim to have unlimited disk space, yet you imply that there will be a charge for uploading more than 1GB of data.
Limited should not be confused with UNlimited. In fact, they should be considered exact oposites. Most everyone in this forum that will be reading your posts knows that. You have to get up pretty early in the morning to fool most of the people in here. :)
If you care about your business, I would strongly suggest rethinking your position and how you describe your services.
Apologies to everyone else if this is too harsh, I just came off a frustrating evening with my ISP.
