Hello
Anyone else had DNS problems the 19th-20th?

I am having a problem with my boss. He wants me to know if someone can't send email to us from all over the world. Before someone complains about it. To me it sounds impossible (and stupid) but I thought I would tap into the wisdom of the people here just in case I am missing something. Our email is outsourced as well as our hosting. I already suggested an email server inhouse but that has been rejected (finances).

Plus I'm looking for the best place to look for news concerning internet issues and problems.

Any help would be appreciated.

That is where I first noticed our DNS problem was with email.. I noticed a large amount of outgoing mail qued (sp?). I then went into our DNS server and noticed a lot of strange entries in the cached domains. I corrected the problem by clearing the cache on our DNS servers. As soon as I cleared the cache all qued mail was then delivered.

Strange....

Because email does not set up a session and coordinate between the two computers, there is ALWAYS the possibility of a transmission being lost.

There is no getting around that.

If you are experiencing multiple problems, try pinging, tracerouting and nslookup.
