Hi,

I have a webmaster plan at OLM.net and saw they have new Webmaster SE accounts. Has anybody ever used one of these? The features sound really great but I wanted to see if anyone has one first. One of the things I liked was that each domain shows the real URL in the nav bar.

Thanks,
Helexia

Your not going to go far with only 15gigs of transfer. You would be better off in my opinion using one of the RSE accts they have.

Hi,

When you look at averages, the bandwidth seems like enough, but I will take a look at the RSE's like you recommend. I have seen positive posts about the RSE's so I'll go back to their site and take a look.

Thanks again,
Helexia

I started a RSE account a few months ago and if you have any questions just let me know.

We started our hosting services with a webmaster plan from OLM.

Generally, our experience with the plan and support by OLM was excellent.

There are however some disadvantages with the webmaster plan.

When setting up emails, we cannot use the same login name for emails across domains hosted on the same webmaster account. For example if www.master.com is the webmaster account and www.abc.com and www.def.com are hosted under it, we cannot have both
sales@abc.com and sales@def.com as both will mean the same.

Moreover I could also see directory listings of all the main domains which were hosted on the same server.

If you can live with this, the webmaster account is fine.
One big benefit is the one time charge for subhosted domains. It means that the second year is free for subhost domains and you can make decent profits.

Cheers,

Matra

If I'm not mistaken OLM will be addressing this very soon.

This is from the news section of their CSE Support site:

A Telnet Security upgrade to isolate customers to there domain
environment is also planned. This means no one will be able to wonder around the servers directory structure like your able to on most linux systems.
