You have to be an Indian to understand India......it has to sink in deep into your bones and to your soul.....and then you have to learn to face your karma :D

India - alHind, Hindustan.

In Islam, Christianity and Judasim - it is a "favored" Country by God. It is mentioned as the place our father Adam (pbah) landed on Earth. He had some leaves and seeds from Heaven on his feet - that is also mentioned as the reason it is the land of spices.

Don't mind me, it might be yet another myth - I tend to collect them :)

Transalation:

I bow to thee, Mother,
richly-watered, richly-fruited
cool with the winds of the
south,
dark with the crops of the
harvests,
The Mother!
Her nights rejoicing in the
glory of the moonlight
her lands clothed beautifully
with her trees in
flowering bloom
sweet of laughter, sweet of
speech
The Mother, giver of boons,
giver of bliss!

I once watned to learn Bengali, to read Tagoe's "Gitanjali", but now it's lost. Literature is realy more than it just is...
