Well I'm sure that there are many great docs out there, I would suggest going to a search engine like www.google.com , type in something like:

DNS How-to Linux

Or something along those lines.

If you don't mind forking out a little cash, I would suggest getting a few books on Amazon.com. There is a series by Charles Aulds. The series is done by "Craig Hunt", Fairly good books.

The best book for learning how DNS works is DNS and Bind from O'reiley. Definently a resource one should have in their technical library.
