I'm guessing you mean 'offering adult hosting', and the answer would be yes/no. Are there more adult sites that need hosting than non-ault sites? I really don't know the figures, but I'd be willing to guess that there are more non-adult sites. I hope so at least.

There are *plenty* of adult sites, and people who need adult hosting. Keep in mind that these people actually use the space you give them, and the transfer, so don't oversell either to the same degree that you would a non-adult site.

i want use ded. server to provide adult hosting..just to ensure their adult site doesn't cause problem to my server.

When you're thinking about adult hosting, there's also few things that you really need to consider :

- Huge bandwidth
- Server/Network security

Adult hosting tend to invite a lot of hackers that are looking for a quick and free access to the website.

Well, id say, people dont want to host adult sites because most of the time hosts they offer their service in the hope that everything offered wil not be used, this making money for nothing in effect.

Offering the service will mean you have to ensure your server is on a very fast reliable connection, and these tend to be fairly expensive. Not to mention the people that will leech your entire site in one fail swoop using a cable modem causing almost a D-S on your box if it isnt fast enough, or if say 5 people do it at once, the effect would be a DDoS on your box and on the network possibly.

Security need not be a problem if the box is "dedicated" to supplying pornographic material as it can be secured in such a way as to disable all other services except image sharing, custom build apache to remove all aspects not required, but be very careful if the box is to be used for other purposes as a single fault and your passwords list will be on the net within minutes, the shole world will leech from your server and the result is, its down and there is nothing anybody can do.

This final point is normally why hosts tend to stay away from adult hosting unless they have a very fast network.

There is demand for adult hosting just ast here is demand for other kinds of hosting. Thing is like you guys have said is that people paying for adult hosting will make sure they use what they pay for, ie all that bandwidht thats offered for so cheap these days that the hosters know it wont be used up so they can cram more people on one server. Doing this with adult hosting is most likely your deathwish, one day a site can do 20gigs and the rest of the month only 500megs. Security is a problem as it is with any other type of websites.

When doing adult hosting, its more a question of when you will get burned as opposed to if you will get burned. It's quick, easy money if you can find a company that will allow you to do it, however, you will need to spend a lot of time keeping your sites secure.

Yes, there is a big demand for adult sites.
They will be using a lot of bandwidth.

So if you offer 5 gigs for $5 :) They will do their best to burn it up :)

Doing collections for adult webhosting must also be a pain. Adult sites are most likely going to use every single bit of bandwidth that have been allocated to them, and therefore push massive amounts of bandwidth. If the host is colocated and if their customer does not pay, the host may be left with a huge bill to pay at the end of the month. Adult hosting with international clients could potentially pose a major financial risk for a webhost.

I have to go with ServerRackNet on this one.. Adult hosting is not the same as hosting.. Much harder to get them to pay at times it can be a pain in the you know what.. :)
