I almost went w/ them for my small website but I heard that they are down alot. If you need a relaible host go for somebody that owns a hosting company on this board. Thats what I did and the both that I have a really top notch(Just don't get a host that charges 9.95 for 5mb thats a rip off when you can get 300 w/ hostrocket or phpwebhosting). I could compare my current host w/ my more expensive host for support and up time. Just search around this board you will find out alot of intersting information. Its taught me how to pick out a hosting company without putting out all the extra money.

We have a site hosted with them since May 23rd.

They were down for 36 hours last month when BT had some problems.

For one month, my uptime is 98%.

The tech support is good.

I think they were a little slow the last period because they worked on the site alot.

Unlimited bandwidth! I do not believe in this. You can contact them and ask what does it mean EXACTLY (and in writing).

Globally we are satisfied with them and decided to host another 2 domains with them.

The site actually hosted is www.edr.ro

For toma1708

You are writing in your offer unlimited email accounts?
Yes. You can add as many email accounts as your web space allows.

Can I setup 150 email accounts ?
Yes, however they would have to all share the alloted web space.

How much is the setup fee ?
$10.00 US.

How much do you charge for extra traffic ?
Most of our clients do not go over their alloted traffic (1 gig) as they have 10 and 20 megs of storage. If you feel that you will go over that amount, please contact me. We can always work something out :)

How much is extra space ?
Our going rate is 10 megs for $2.95 and or 20 megs for $6.95.
If you feel that you will need more than that, as stated above, please feel free to contact me and we can work something out.

I hope that I was able to answer all of your questions. If you have any more, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for your time. :D

Hi all!
This is my first post in here! Actually I dropped by from another messageboard and found the gnxonline thread by luck! Anyway now to the topic! ;)

I got my gnxonline account on march the 4th! They had other hosting packages by then! 200MB - Linux - PHP - CGI - ASP - "Unlimited Bandwidth" - (I'm not sure about mySQL!! I thought it was included, can any1 help me about that? The hosting package was "Linux Power Hosting" or something like that!)

Well all went fine and my account was set up! Just a small problem....I noticed that I had problems wit my domain since it was registered with ****zero.com..... to make it short - I asked gnxonline to change my account and set it up for another domain and luckily they did!

Now there was another problem! I paid 120$ to get a Linux 200MB account and only had gotten 100 MB...there is something wrong, huh? I have emailed the sales department several times..first they said they will do it soon and lately they are not even replying to my emails!
Today I emailed them about giving my money back! Well I wonder why, no reply yet lol..but thats life!

I don't want to put gnxonline into a bad shape! They were really great at the beginning with all their support and everything! I'm just confused why they can't set up my account properly and why they are not replying lately!

I better stop be4 this is going to end in a biography! I enjoyed my first post lol (somehow!)

I was going to going go with them but you have to remember there is no such thing as unlimited and I've heard bad things about them. Go w/ hosturbo.com or dim8.net they are worth the money.

1. I think that they developed too fast and they cannot offer the support in time.
2. Have you checked the automated web support area? For me this is working fine since now and no answer (9 problems) was delivered after 24 hours (which I think is acceptable as far as finally we have to deal with people and not computers).

Since we are talking about gnxonline,
does anyone know if they have installed the apache module "mod_rewrite" ? I need it to make my dynamic pages "searchengine friendly"!

I know I could ask their support :D but as I posted before, they are not replying lately! Maybe they have me on ignore because I ask too much? ;)

They are not responding because they are working on their servers. Any way, when I asked them about my problems regarding the access to the control panel and ftp account I received 3 times the same answer ! Incredibe.

Does that mean they are working on their servers the last few weeks? ;)

Yes I think. At least that is what I understood from a mail message I received from them.

I signed up with gnxonline 5/5.2001. I only used email from until 6/1. The site experienced numerous outages. Support was almost impossible, to get them to respond was a miracle. I didn't start using the web site until 6/1. The only thing that was loaded on my site was some sample code from iHtml. Now on to the problems since then.

I received an email on "In our continuous effort to provide our customers with a high standard of
service , www.gnxonline.com would like to advise our customers that due to maintance work on server 786

The server can no longer able to accept ftp connections. We are in the process of re-creating all users sites back onto a new server

1) Update dns servers which will be:

NS1.j-sainsbury.net 64.23.94.46
NS2.J-sainsbury.net 64.23.94.45
"
I promptly shaned the DNS's and the site never cam back. Then after numerous emails and messages on their HumanClick" the sent me another email.

This time it said
"We can not host your domain any more as your domain Has cause over server to be the subject of hack attacks as becase of your domain and as a result Account has been cancel"

Enough said. They do not respond to any emails that I send them. I have cancelled the charges on my credit card.

I surely would not recommend them to anyone and would go out of my way to discourage anyone form using there service

I understand you, we received the same message and we updated our DNS initially with thhe 2 sainsbury net but
Monday they mailed us the correct DNS for NT accounts and since then we are trying to make things going on

For the moment the mail is working fine (they use IMail 6.0. which is excellent compared with what they had before).

If we fix the FTP problems I think that you have a good quality-price ratio which is the most importanty.

And, what's most important, their 14 days money back is real!!

I will be patient because I think that it will take a while until all the changes will be made and as far as I'm concerned I think thay deserve a chance like everybody.

I am not their lawyer, but I think the border between customers and providers should be somewhere at the middle.

Interesting!

My opinion is that they were reselling for fasthosts.co.uk and they faced the same problem (i.e. traffic over 10 Gb and suspension of their accounts or something very close). I have the impression (but I'm not a very good detective) that they are now with rackspace.

Let me know if you find something different.

I put a small site up there last month. Seems fast enough. Their tech support is a little weak. I've had problems with their email management console. They told me not to use it to send, receive or managed the contents of email boxes. iNNERHOST uses the same console and everything works great.

Most conversations to tech support result in less than 100% of the original question answered and the respose is almost 3rd grade level

You get what you pay for. If you have a simple site you should be alright. Don't expect much.

Their service is worst. Their downtime is higher than their uptime. They ignore emails. When you open a "problem file" because the server is not accessible, they reply hours later (>7) telling you there is no problem (sure, in the meantime the server is back up). I am kinda upset, as they apparently do not care in any way about their customers. Therefore I will quite probably leave them and forget the other 9 paid months (I am a customers since 3 months). I will lose $33, but that was my own risk. Thats life :).
